I said before the season that I believed Miami would falter before the Finals.  During the season, I became more impressed with the Heat, saying they would most likely repeat.

For the hell of it, I will go back to my pre-season prediction.  Miami falters.  Indiana pulls the upset in 6 games.

I agree, If Miami is to win, Lebron would have to do all the work. To much of a load IMO. Indiana's strengths are Miami's weaknesses. Plus Indiana has great perimeter defenders as well as tough rugged paint defenders. So Miami will have to beat the best team in the league at defending threes, with threes. They'll play everybody one on one, they'll let lebron get his, but what will the rest of the team give? Miami is in trouble, and for all the people thinking it will be cake cake walk, you're in for a rude awakening.

Pacers in 7

But if the refs call a foul on every Hibbert contest at the rim and every LeBron miss when George is guarding him...

Then Heat in 6.

Heat in 5. I just think they're head and shoulders above everybody else. I don't think we've seen them at their best yet.

Yes, I'm glad you point this out. Every single one of you reading this and following this series should know going into it that the refs will play one of the most if not the most pivotal roles in determining the outcome of this entire series and how it goes. It's sad to say, but they really will.

If the Pacers are not allowed to play their physical style of ball and have a ton of ticky tacks & cheap fouls called on them while Miami's allowed to flop (as they're known for and tend to get away with), then this will be totally disheartening & a shame for the league.

If the series is referee'd even similar like in the Indy/NY series and let the bigs actually raise up and consistently contest, then Indiana can legitimately win in 6, I think how Game 1 is called will be the indicator. Although looking at the previous series, Miami seems to be jump shooting more and more, not much going to the rim. Plus Hill needs to 'fully' recover if possible.

Paul George has wanted this all year

@AlexKennedyNBA

Paul George wanted a rematch vs. Heat. He watched film of last year's series repeatedly last summer. He was disappointed he didn't do more.

@AlexKennedyNBA

Paul George earlier this year: "I think if you ask anyone in here how bad we want that rematch [against Miami], we’d all be up for it.”

That's nice & all, but the less he talks the better. You never wanna' give those guys any more motivation or fuel than necessary.

if they need Paul George to say "We've wanted to rematch Miami all year" to motivate themselves then they're already in trouble.

Miami in 6. There's only so much you can do to stop the Heat offense, you have to be able to put up points on the board and the Pacers haven't shown the ability to do that consistently through the season.

The Heat's amazing defensive rotation can neutralize the offense of most teams in the league. George has to play like a real superstar in this series for the Pacers to triumph; he has to be willing to take on his defender, take the initiative in attacking the basket, and create space for Hibbert. I thought defense, rebounding, hustle, grit,and physicality were all you needed to beat the Heat, but I've learned they know how to deal with blue-collar teams like Indiana and Chicago. You need something special to beat this Miami team, especially in close games.

Miami in 6, but if they oust the Pacers in 5, I won't be surprised.
