Alright.. I'm starting to lean closer to retirement..

As much as it sounds like either that or opting out, I still think it is just a way to get us riled up. It wouldn't be the first time he's done it. I mean, let's be honest, he would be idiotic to not opt in.

Yeah, at the same time this is Metta, so we really don't know.

Even Metta hasn't said things like "Thanks for the support over all the years."

That actually sound like retirement.

When he said "I had a great time in LA" it sounded like he was being traded.

"Thanks for the support over the years" Sounds like retirement.

So your guess is as good as mine X_X

Another hour till that decision.  Kinda exciting really

They have until later tomorrow to make that decision, don't they? He said he'll reveal it at 9.

i wish they could work out a trade. Maybe a young guy who is "overpaid"" for 2-3 more years.

i'm thinking Wes Matthews-level for around the same $$$ that metta makes

RT @MarkG_Medina: If World Peace exercises player option, the Lakers could waive him using amnesty provision. That can be done between July 10-16

i think you have to amnesty , if he opts in, right?

Does a tough, defender like him have any value as an expiring?

Saves the Lakers 30 million in taxes if he doesn't come back or if they amnesty.

I think there are cheaper options that would be better offensively and you can replace his defense IMO. He's been average at best on that end of the floor.

Metta's opting in IMO.

He's that big of a goofball that he'll throw a celebration for opting into the final year of his contract.

He'll probably throw a party when he gets amnestied too.

Hasn't Metta said he doesn't care about money anymore? haha .. who knows what he'll do... best thing for the Lakers would be if he opted out and signed at vets min.

MDI should let us know what's going on. He's hung out with him at the beach multiple times throughout the years. He's got that kinda access.

Is tomorrow like the final day where players have to inform teams wether they are opting in or out of contracts?

I'm actually leaning toward retirement. He already considered it due to nerve issues two seasons ago,and he had operation this season before playoffs. He's a goofball, but I think he's aware of his decline and the fact that the Lakers will amnesty him.

And because I see him as a loyal guy who is emotionally bounded with LA,the place where he won his first ring, who doesn't think money matters anymore so he doesn't want to cost the front office more, retirement is a realistic option.
