I'm sure we are going to get a lot of draft talk in the coming weeks leading up to the draft, so let's try to keep all of it in one thread.

Now as for the topic, if the Lakers are able to move into the first round, who do you see them targeting?

An athletic wing player seems like the best bet but I would not be shocked to see a point guard taken either. They could very well play Blake at the 2 next season.

I wonder how we'll get a pick. I'd assume through a pau deal, that'll be the interesting thing is if we get a pick and how high the pick is

Don't see the Lakers moving up in the draft for THIS draft.  Maybe in the 2014 one but not this one.

I think it's 50/50.  I think they'll move up if they can net a lottery pick somehow.   If not, they won't bother unless they really see something in a player that's projected to go late in the first round.

The Lakers aren't exactly young so they can't just shrug off this draft like nothing. This draft isn't as good as next year's obviously but it's still good to build up talent if you get the chance.

Why don't they just blow half a mill again so we can make sure we nab another DJO before anyone else can

Lakers draft prospects. Major sigh..

Sometimes I think every workout player is a smokescreen by mitch. Why bother bringing in Seth, no way he drops to 40 and hes certainly not a player worth trading up to get

Well let's be honest, the only reason Sacre stayed was aside from being a great locker room guy is the fact that they didn't know when Dwight would be back or how often he'd play and with the injuries Pau was dealing with as well.

Goudelock isn't garbage. He was the D League MVP.

That's not garbage. He's what he is supposed to be for the area in which he was drafted.

Sacre looked good on pre season with Nash.

We were calling him baby Gortat.

Have u seen the progression of Mahimi, Modgov, Thabeet, haddadi, and other stiffs.

Sacre can give u some minutes if he continues to train.

Lakers will either pull a Von Wafer (picked over Monta Ellis in 2nd round)

Or they will pull a Monta Ellis lol

Sacre is not a baby Gortat.  He's not even close.

Progression of who?

Ian Mahinmi is an average (Brook Lopez-esque) rebounder who can't put the ball in the hoop, takes dumb shots, and is in foul trouble most of the time he's on the floor.

Timofey Mozgov is nearly the same as Mahinmi, always in foul trouble because he can't defend, doesn't know how to pass the ball...just a better rebounder, but that's it.

Hasheem Thabeet?  He's an okay rebounder who can't defend, can't score, doesn't even know how to get into scoring position.  The Thunder have already brushed him aside, and are probably wondering why the hell they even brought him in.

Hamed Haddadi is another train wreck, who can't defend and fouls more than anyone else on this list not named Thabeet.  Poor offensive game.

I'd trade up for trey Burke, reminds me of Paul

I'd consider trading up for shabazz depending on who else we get because he has talent and maybe Kobe can help develop it, help fix his head a little

Pau for Derrick Williams, shved, kirilenko and the 9th pick makes sense

You get a 9 million dollar expiring, 2 Assets to trade or develop and a 1st rounder to hopefully get someone like shabazz or if we were lucky Burke

That leaves you with Dwight, Williams, shved, hill, and whoever is taken with the top 10 pick

Ya it's not exactly okc 2010, but it's a nice stable of youth.

It's not like we're the odd balls and everyone else drafts keepers in the 2nd rnd.  Sometimes, the difference in 2nd rnd talent being a solid role player to AllStar just depends on the team, system and coach he lands with...

Saying that a player who is drafted 31st or later is likely trash is dumb.  It's not that easy...
