Sports Illustrated’s Fortunate 50 ranks the wealthiest athletes by calculating salaries and endorsements

#4. Kobe Bryant, $46,850,000

#31. Dwight Howard, $21,936,000

#37. Pau Gasol, $21,100,000

Cant say the Franchise isnt spending the $ thats for sure.

I'm pretty sure the Lakers and Yankees are the only franchise with 3 players on the list. Thats a whole lotta dough.

Yanks have 5.

edit. Heat have 3. Bosh is 47.

Looks like the Dodgers and Giants have 3 to.

Damn, didn't know Mayweather was killing the competition that badly, that's just absurd.

Didn't think Derrick Rose would be as high as he is.

How long has LeBron topped Kobe for in this?

yea...whats Crazy is Boxing is basically like a dead sport but Mayweather made 80 mill of it...so hes also brilliant.

Rose was paid and a mvp, but we will see if hes still worth it when he comes back.

I believe this is the 1st time Lebron made more than KB but not certain.

and it doesnt say if this is before or after taxes. if its before taxes, of that 46 mill KB makes he only brings home about $19 mill because of higher Cali tax rates + city tax, property tax, etc + the regular Fed tax. This is of course fluctuates with KBs deductions of course..

Bron is in FL and pays NO state income tax. So Bron would take home about 20-30% more. Maybe thats why he makes more. I dont know.

in 2011 Forbes said KB was #2 at $53 mill behind Woods $75 mill. So I would assume this is the 1st year Bron passed KB in earnings.

No way, NFL players make waaaay less than MLB and NBA. A-Rod makes more than the entire Houston Astros.

Not surprised by Mayweather, he gets big splits on his fights almost always at least 60/40 plus boxing ppv money

90 mil for this year alone for Floyd is crazy loot! That's what some high paid athletes get for a multi-year contract.

He's "I hate him" rich.

Floyd Mayweather is one lucky SOB.  He is in an era where there are no great fighters anymore so the sports put all their money on mayweather who I still believe the most over rated fighter in the history of that sports. I rather use that money to pay a UFC fighter than a boxer and MMA is a sports that is rising and more enjoyable to watch.

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.

^ Most of the time yes, but not always. There are exceptions. Mainly when you get those often typical Mexican boxers/fighters who give the crowd blood like crazy round after round destroying each other. Hardly any running, moments of inactivity, or holding. Unfortunately however, not enough of the mainstream public know about these guys so many miss out.
