That's sad. Why would the Celtics do such a dick move like that.

Cause he's owed 15 million dollars and can buy him out for 5 million. All business.

On a championship caliber team, they keep and pay him.  it's pretty clear the Celts need to start the rebuilding process.  So if I am Ainge, I approach him and offer him options- stay and play for $6m or so and retire a Celt, buyout at $5m and he can hook on elsewhere, or try to trade him before June 30.

Celts should have dealt him during the season.  Now no one (well maybe the Clippers) are going to give them anything for him, knowing that the Celts will likely cut him loose in a few weeks anyway.

There will be plenty of teams lined up to get him.

My money's on the Mavericks snatching him up.

Plus he only got them 1 championship, not like Kobe getting us 5.

Mavericks or Rockets will pick him up.

I don't see the Clippers getting him because I heard they were shedding cap space for Dwight... hahaha

lmfao they can't have both Dwight and CP3. Pretty much impossible under the CBA, unless the Lakers agree to a sign and trade, which ain't happening

Silly clippers

They have pieces that can easily be dealt to clear Cap Space imo though.

Lamar Odom's 8 million is expiring

DeAndre Jordan can be dealt to a team like the Celtics whom will let Pierce go or maybe a team like the Rockets

Caron Butler whom is a solid 3 can be dealt for a minor piece.

They have lot of options and you never know, I personally believe they have a 5% chance of getting D12 though haha

The Boston Globe reports Paul Pierce and family have started plans to re-locate out of Boston. I can't imagine Pierce in another jersey.

It is unfortunate but really common all in all, players nowadays never fully end it all with one team. But ultimately his number will be retired  by the Celtics. But I don't agree that he should be traded to a rebuilding team for some mediocre first Round pick, if he cannot go to a legit team, then just buy him out.

Kobe wanting 3-4 more years and we could all be arguing his case in the next coming years.

You're welcome, ESPN. RT @MySportsLegion: Celtics will try to trade Paul Pierce before end of week, Bucks & Cavs most interested. (via ESPN)

Completely agree. There's more decent ways to go about this and that would not be one. I understand it's a business, but after all he's done for your franchise in all those many seasons/years, you at least owe a bit of courtesy to the guy instead of pulling a Stephen A. Smith level "so disrespectful" move on him.
