Too little too late? Apparently KG's future with Boston is tied with how Pierce's handled there. BOS doesn't want to pick up the last year on Pierce's contract & want to either trade him or buy him out so Pierce is probably gone...but KG is willing to trade his no trade clause for either the Clippers or Lakers.

If anything we learned from 2004 and 2013 was no more old guys experiment but KG is a very intriguing name

http://probasketball...bring-him-back/

The video above from Sunday on Comcast Sportsnet New England, it is CSNNE’s Boston Celtics sideline reporter Greg Dickerson debating what a lot of Celtics fans are debating right now: Tear it down now or bring Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and the rest of the band back for one more year. The Celtics have until June 30 to buy out Pierce’s $15 million contract for next season for $5 million, that will be the first domino.

During the interview Dickerson said something interesting: The people around Pierce — and likely Pierce himself — don’t expect to be back.

… I know that the company that Paul Pierce hangs around in, they do not believe – and I don’t think Paul Pierce believes – that he is going to be brought back next year at $15 million. I know for a fact that people around Paul Pierce have pretty much resigned themselves to the fact that he’s played his final game in a Boston Celtics uniform. Again, Paul wants to stay – obviously for $15 million — but he wants to finish his career in a Celtics uniform…. Probably a buyout (rather than a trade)…

“(Garnett) doesn’t want to be around for a rebuilding phase for another year. If Paul’s gone, I think without a doubt Kevin Garnett is gone, either by retirement or he finally decides to waive his no-trade clause, and the Celtics maybe work something out with a Clippers team. But the list is real short. The teams that Kevin Garnett would go to, there might be two of them on it, and they both might be the Clippers and Lakers.”

on non Laker note I think Boston does buy out Pierce and he probably joins the Clippers

I just saw this too, haha.

But why would you trade Pau AND Clark for an aging Garnett? Anyway, out of Pierce and Garnett I'd rather have Paul.

KG wants to become a laker... we let KG become a laker...

Dude comes here and wins a title, no way boston will retire his jersey...

Trade for KG, and then sign Paul Peirce... boston fans would be jumping out of buildings

The Clippers will be in a much, much better position to pick both of them up. They will be under the luxury tax threshold, even after re-signing CP3, and they also know that adding Pierce and Garnett shows they are looking for a strong push at a title, and it possibly keeps CP3 around.

Boston could trade Pierce for a package including Caron Butler (who will have an expiring $8 million next summer), and let KG walk. The Clippers would fill that SF spot, play KG as the starting center and/or backup PF, and go from there.

No way in hell KG going to the Lakers.  Knowing KG, he probably rather retire than jump around teams just to get another ring. Remember KG already won a championship so the desire is not like a loto old guys trying to get a ring. KG has a lot of pride and I think he will call it quits.  And if anything, he might go to the Clippers. Lakers? Really? Is the Lakers the retirement homes for the NBA now? Lets get as many old age guys on our team as possible.  I guess "we need to get younger" is going out the door right?

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.

Pierce

Kobe

Nash

Bench

Hill, Clark, Morrow, Wright, Blake

Boston won't take Artest for Pierce, though, and we'd have to send out more than just him.

EDIT: Ah, Gasol. I don't know. I'd rather try and get picks or young talent.

Nahh $6 mil is to basically pay him to go away. But it would still count against our cap

Yea 2014 KG situation similar to 2013 PIerce's when they're on final year of contract teams can pay them a partial salary to get them off the team but it still counts against the Cap

http://www.sbnation....ul-flannery/rss

The Celtics can buy out the final year of Pierce’s contract worth $15 million for $5 million by June 30. That $5 million figure would count against the cap. They could use the amnesty clause on him, which would clear some more cap money, but they would then owe him the full $15 million in real dollars and any team could sign him or claim him on waivers.
