Acting was good, direction was incredible, cinematography was ridiculous

Visuals were the best ive ever seen. For the longest time avatar carried that distinction, but the best visuals and usage of 3D now rests with gravity

There's a scene with debris from a satellite where the debris is coming at the screen and the whole time I was flinching lol

The visuals are incredible, not one time do you feel you are watching CGI, the whole time you feel like you're watching a camera in space documenting all of this.

The direction is incredible because the tension is throughout and constant and the story unfolds exactly how it should

All in all 9/10 movie. Not best picture worthy but great movie that puts cauron at the top of my list along with Neill Blomkamp as the guys I want directing justice league

I expected more. It's certainly no Apollo 13.

Eh, watched it last night & wasn't blown away. Good film no doubt but the visuals dwarf the story line.

It'd be cool if somehow she landed on another planet.

WTF happened to The Blind Side thick Sandra?

Well I thought she was actually arguably thicker & just overall better looking in those Miss Congeniality movies although indeed she still looked good in 'The Blind Side', but yeah no doubt, she has gotten' far too much thinner.

Saw it a few days before the Oscars. Didn't like it as much as everyone here did, but then again I'm not the biggest Bullock fan.

LeBron James will NOT leave the Miami Heat.

If you didn't see this in imax 3d you missed out. Technologically speaking it was the most incredible thing I've ever seen

That's because you watched it on your TV at home...

It also changes a large portion of the movie experience as a whole.

People underestimate the movie experience. If you make wizard of oz in all black and white its not the same

Movies are a package and some movies are not "meant" to have their visual appearance be a piece of the movie experience

Because it is an art movies directors look at the whole canvas and decide what to paint. If part of the painting they created is visual spectacle then in not seeing it in its intended format would hurt the experience. The visual spectacle is important to gravity because it's part of his vision.

Watching this movie on a non 3D tv without a sound system is a crime.

Same as watching on a laptop with headphones.

Look at avatar. In IMAX 3d people were in awe. When the tree falls and the final battle were truly something to behold. Absolutely incredible

But on tv people had a completely different impression of that film.

How you watch a movie is a factor, especially a technologically groundbreaking movie
