You guys need to read this article by Larry Coon. He breaks down how the the Lakers can get CP3, and howit is extremely difficult.

Beyond unlikely.

I just can't see this happening in any way, shape or form.

I think the chances of it happening are about as good as me becoming Spiderman, but could you imagine the face on the entire Clippers' organization if he turned down their max contract for the MLE with the Lakers? That would be beyond classic.

3 Million

Up to three years if I am not mistaken.

I'd like to point out I was being sarcastic on my previous post but I'd probably break down into tears if that were to happen.

The thing with Chris Paul is he just wants to win.  He'll re-sign with the Clippers if he really believes he can win with them, but I can't help but feel that he noticed our bad season and how we considered the 7th seed and a first round exit a failure while the Clippers were calling their exit a good season.  He has the same attitude as Kobe, he wants to win titles, that's it.

And his best chance is here(should Dwight re-sign) since him and Kobe talk all the time I'm sure it's come up.

Even when in the Olympic games when they asked Kobe what he thought about Steve Nash being added to the team Chris Paul came over to him playfully and went "yeah what DO you think about that?".

Then you look at his tweets about Kobe and their all-star break closeness and Kobe saying at least the NBA can't veto their children playing together and the performance and synergy they played with during that game, rest assured if Dwight re-signs it won't just be Mitch selling it to Chris, but Kobe most definitely.

Its highly unlikely but if Kobe were able to convince him, I'd probably burst into tears too. Not just for having CP3 but all the other free agents that would take a paycut just to be on the team lol

Dwight and Paul are best friends. If this is going to happen, Dwight and Paul need to do some behind the scenes stuff.

I am sure if he could sign anywhere, he would come here. The problem is our financial situation. Maybe he can sign a 5 year deal with a team and a player option after the first year. That way, he can opt out and sign with us lol

Kobe and Paul are also very close friends as well.

If it doesn't happen we'll always have the all-star game of this year ;). Kobe, Paul and Dwight played with SUCH synergy it wasn't funny lol.

i hope cp3 didnt lose his infatuation with dwight after his injured season like laker fans did...

but honestly, even if we amnesty Kobe ; i dont think cp3 is the FA that comes here.

Kobe and Randle led Lakers lead the team to a 32-50 record. the Lakers select Myles Turner with the 5th pick.

If we don't have Kobe and Dwight there's no way he'd sign that mMle for us. We'd need them both and for him to sign the mMLE witha promise of max in the 2014 year. Then him and Dwight would be our max 1-2 punch and we'd be building around them mostly.

We'd have to hope the lure of that plus Kobe and Dwight being close friends of his would be enough to entice him. He knows he isn't winning as a clipper

this isnt the Bill Simmons - Amnesty kobe for cp3 article. ?i thought that would be the only way to get cp3; not my fault too, really.

mmle?it sounds crazy and ridiculous which it is; but its possible , and heres how.

- all we have to do is under the table promise CP3 an extra year at the end of his contract. dont the lakers have a bunch of retired players under contract at the moment?or at least last year they did, right?
