The easy answer is yes, he will stay in L.A. but will sign with the Lakers because the Lakers have been the most stoic franchise in sports history bar none. They are in dire need for a point guard to lead the team into the future since Kobe Bryant isn’t getting any younger and this was likely the end of the road for Steve Nash.
Bringing back Dwight Howard would give Chris Paul additional incentive to switch L.A. teams as by giving him legit big guy who they can re-take the Western Conference back from the San Antonio Spurs and return to dominance sooner than later. Additionally, the Clippers always seem to have a knack for bringing in very good talent but then letting them walk at the end of their contract.
The downside of bringing in Paul is that he has never played a full 82-game season in his eight-year career so far and injuries were the dagger that ended the Lakers’ season.

I think it's just stupid to believe he would sign for MLE and then resign next year.

^ probably the lure of the championship in and less money 2013 and the guarantee of a max in 2014. All and all I think Dwight re-signing would be the biggest bargain chip.

And probably because of who our GM is and the lure of the franchise.

Ill be shocked if it happens honestly, but considering out GM I wouldn't be surprised to wake up one morning and see another "Welcome to LA CP3" thread that Stern can"t veto.

Again ill be shocked if Mitch pulls it off, but its obvious he's gonna do his darndest to try.

Seems like yall forget the nba is a business let's say cp3 signs that mle 1 yr and god forbid tears his acl as a laker? And with cp3 with known issues with his knees already you think lakers really give a guy a max if that happen? Cp3 is thinking long term and to get the most money is right now by staying with the clippers

That plus Kobe's probably been wooing him since all-star break. Ultimately it comes down to money.

Obviously the most money he'll make is with the Clippers but it comes at the expense of a championship(which he won't win there).

If money is everything he will re-sign with the Clippers and content with himself that he won't win a title as long as Blake is their franchise.

Yeah but honestly the injur would be a downside.

Thats what everyone seems to talk about "what if he signs the one year and then injures himself?"

It would suck to have Mitch pull ANOTHER miracle and for that to happen

P.S. Holy crap Bret Hart is sitting across from me!!!!! Gonna go get a picture, bbl.

I love the reasoning on why he woud come here. We need him so he should come here or were a famous franchise so he'll take close to 17 mill less in salary to play here. lol guys lets look at realistic FA's.
