In this column (see link), BS raises the prospects of the Lakers amnestying Kobe if it allowed them to acquire CP3.

So, regardless of your feelings, please explain how this would work (what are all the moves that have to be made)?

We can only offer CP3 the midMLE no matter what we do.

We would have to get rid of darn near EVERYONE on our team just to offer him anything close to 8 or 9 million and by then it won't matter and would be pointless. .

Well with amnesty,Kobe's 30 million comes of the books,and if Metta retires or doesn't pick up his player option,we would be 17-18 million under the cap.  That's without Dwight max. So with severe paycut,they could sign CP3 and Dwight,I think.


Impossible is nothing.

it wouldnt work you just saw what PC3 can do with a team full of quality role players 2 at best at each position. Him & D12 aint enough!
