The Minnesota Timberwolves are formalizing the release of Brandon Roy, according to sources.

Roy had one more year on his contract and was slated to earn $5.3 million next season.

This is likely the end of Roy's career.

Roy, who played just five games this season with the Timberwolves, is a three-time NBA All-Star.

Feel so bad for him. Hope he can find positivity in his career elsewhere.

Roy was amazing when healthy. I think Kobe said he was the only other guard in the league he actually respected as a strong challenging opponent player to defend....that's props right there.

Vince Carter was a flash in the pan

Tracy McGrady was a small forward

Dwayne Wade you have an argument there.

But Brandon Roy scored 42 on a PRIME Ron Artest in the playoffs.

So.... yeah..  when healthy you could make a fair argument for Roy.

Vince Carter actually stuck around... that gives him huge points in my book, that he was able to adjust his game after he lost his athleticism, and still be a quality player

T Mac could, and did play some SG

^exactly, VC quietly had a great year for a 35 year old who's game primarily relied on his athleticism. dude got 13ppg shooting 40% from the 3.

VC could've been so much greater tho... too bad

I'm sorry to see a great talent's career end in injury, but he really should have stopped trying to get a new contract.

Why stop? If someones willing to pay why not..
