Offense : Well as you can see, this team is made to run. Magic, Ray Allen, Melo, Marion, Scott, Majerle, Tiny Archibald, and Blake Griffin. All of them are terrific athletes that can run the floor up and down. That's the strength of this team. Let's say we're forced to play half court, we have Ewing and Magic at the post, and by having terrific shooters around the player all the time, it gives them the space they need to operate. We also have 2 great shot creators in Melo and Allen. Imagine a line up of Magic, Ray Allen, Melo, Matrix and Ewing running a flex motion based offense. Not only we're athletic, but the team has decent range.
Defense : Given that the starting lineup is small, it is quick. The defense will heavily revolved around playing 1-3-1 zone defense. The defense will focus on disrupting the flow of our opponent's offense. The defense also covers some defensive deficiencies in Carmelo Anthony. You have prime Marion that has lightning reflexes, very agile running the zone causing so many disruption, you also Magic Johnson and his long limbs.. Ray Allen isn't a lockdown defender, but he's not a liability as well. He can guard anyone, not lock them down, but he can make you work for your shot.. Patrick Ewing is the feature of this defense. 1-3-1 really relies on your wing players to disrupt the offense of your counterpart.. But he will be the last line of defense inside, and he will be the anchor of this defense. Which he has proven all throughout his career. Him and Laimbeer are one of the best anchors to ever play the game.
Also, given that our frontline lacks size, that doesn't mean we're going to get eaten alive on the boards. Ewing, Marion, Melo, and Magic.. Laimbeer, and Griffin are great rebounders. Also, Ewing, Marion, and Laimbeer are great outlet passers. Ewing and Laimbeer are great ball tippers as well. Also, we can control the pace of the game if we control the paint by efficiently rotating while playing zone.
