It's not fuel to hate D'Antoni. D'Antoni is fuel to hate D'Antoni.

It's disappointment in taking away two quality voices and coaches on the sidelines away in favor of a "system" (that still doesn't exist) and a coach who has ZERO idea how to coach or win.

Unbelievable how much you support a coach who is 1-14 in his last 15 playoff games, can't coach defense, incessantly angers all of his players, can't coach defense, can't manage egos or minutes for jack squat, claimed in a post game interview that rebounds don't matter and in general has no business being a coach in the NBA or basketball in general.

He's the guy that works with the big men on the team :)  And the only guy strong enough to still body up Metta and Dwight in practice drills with the weight ball.

Ham does a lot more than nothing =p

Weight ball is a bad thing, no wonder metta bricks his damn shots and Dwight bricks his damn hook shots.

I'm not a D'Antoni fan by any means, but can we not freak out till we find out who will be the new coaches

I think he's cutting them because he wanted a smaller staff. And quite honestly unless MDA hires a good defensive coordinator and a very good offensive coordinator I will be concerned.

Bernie should have remained just in case they needed an interim half way thru season next yr & Person was mainly a good resource for Kobe for specific issues. Really depends on who they reload with on staff b4 I can really judge the decision.

I don't really care which assistant coaches they have, it looks like they had more assistant coaches than actual able bodied players in the playoffs.  I do care that they have an inept head coach who is allowed to make decisions that effect the franchise that I love.  Can't wait til they miss the playoffs or squeak in on the last day next season with everyone on the team injured because of this clown

It's too bad. I'm really worried that we are headed for a Yankees-like decline after they lost George Steinbrenner. Stories come out now that Phil would maybe want to coach a couple years, groom a successor, then run the philosophical side of basketball operations (i.e. not deal with talking to agents and calling other GMs but making decisions on personnel and coaching). That would have been perfect for the Lakers this past year, the upcoming year, and beyond. Phil and Mitch could make a great team working together with Phil helping out the coaching staff and picking players while Mitch handled the details of making trades work, etc.

Instead we are putting all trust in D'Antoni who hasn't even shown the same coaching ability as Mark Jackson, let alone someone like Phil or Popovich. Throwing away the end of Kobe's career, Gasol's time as a Laker. Possibly even losing the future with Dwight who I think is too scared to force a change in coaching and would rather avoid confrontation and just go somewhere else.

It's really just sad. I haven't lived in the LA area for years and finally with TWC I can watch all the Laker games like I did growing up, and this is what happens. I can just see it happening, Dwight goes somewhere else, mediocre next year, start over with nobody but Nash in 2014 and coming back with no franchise players (because none are really available except Lebron in 2014).

I think Majesty must be on D'Antoni's payroll.

This is an absolutely shameless move.  Par for the course for Little Jimmy's new regime, sadly.  I think D'Antoni didn't want there to be a viable interim coach sitting on the bench behind him.

He rides terrible coach's jocks ( like Mike Brown and MDA) and then proceeds to hate on Phil Jackson whenever he is brought up. Its weird.

Wish I could tell you I did, lol...but I don't.  I just saw it posted a long time ago, somewhere (may have been over at my old place), but I saved it.  Had me laughing.

You guys surprised about this move? Heck if Mike D could get rid of those guys the minute he got hired, he would have. Now he is bringing in his coaches. Looking forward for the 7 second or less offense that this team cannot do because of the players we have.

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.
