Did those assistants contribute to a title?
Like now we are worse?

God, Kobe was right.

mike antoni shouldn't even manage the coaches when he can't even coach himself. i bet he's gonna try to get all offensive coaches in.

I'll miss Bernie.

But look it's another "blame the coach" thread :)

I'm sure if the ball boy is fired too there will be three pages of "NOW THE BALL IS GONNA NOT HAVE AIR!! DARN YOU D'ANTONI!!!  IF THE BALL BOY THROWS THE BALL IN A WRONG ANGLE AND HITS A PLAYER IN THE KNEE MAKING THEM A DNP I WILL BLAME D'ANTONI!!! DARN YOU ALL!!! WHY CAN'T IT BE PHIL!?!?  BE PHIL!! PLEASE BE PHIL!!!!"

Bernie is going to go be with Mike Brown in Cleveland.

That's who he wants to be around anyway.   You think Bernie wants to stay when he coached the Lakers during that great stretch they had and despite the success heard "We want Phil" chants every night as if it meant nothing and he was insignificant?

I'll miss Bernie, he really did help with Morris' game and "taking sugar out of it" but alas. He'll do wonders with Kyrie in Cleveland.

Person I don't want to see go, but i'm not gonna make 10 pages of "i wanna complain about the coach so the world knows I hate him!" until I find out who the replacement assistant coaches are.

Sad to see them go, but Lakers need to make room for Nate.

Does D'Antoni have another bro to put in his staff?

"You watch anime?"

- "Yeah, I just got into it! Just recently, I just started watching Attack on Ti-"

"Get away from me, pleb."

I think Majesty must be on D'Antoni's payroll.

This is an absolutely shameless move.  Par for the course for Little Jimmy's new regime, sadly.  I think D'Antoni didn't want there to be a viable interim coach sitting on the bench behind him.

The whining coming out of this thread is laughable.

Person and Bernie were the only two coaches on our staff worth anything.

What a shame. I agree we had too many assistants but I'd have liked to see them both stay, Person could have stayed at the least.

God, Kobe was right.

Chuck Person did in 2010 as our defensive coordinator after Rambis left in 09

In the "Mike D'antoni looks for defensive assistant" thread

I didn't see one person say

"Why does he need a defensive assistant?  We got Chuck Person, just keep him!"

And if they did it was so miniscule it was unnoticed.   maybe one person.

But now when he's let go people are saying "he was a sound defensive mind, he was so this he was so that"

Why is it people only seemed to care about the guy after he was let go and use it as fuel to hate D'antoni?

To be honest I think the only people most of ya'll gave a darn about on our staff was Bickerstaff and Ham :)

I thought he was going to keep Person while adding another Defensive coach. And screw Ham! does nothing just like Dan

He's the guy that works with the big men on the team :)  And the only guy strong enough to still body up Metta and Dwight in practice drills with the weight ball.

Ham does a lot more than nothing =p
