Put Gasol at Center or try to use the mini-MLE on someone

I don't know if anyone knows for sure, that would free up a lot of space to sign someone else

Well hopefully Dwight will make a decision before the Lakers have to use the amnesty.

I'm guessing they keep Gasol at center, play Clark/Hill at PF and backup C, and see what happens. Any mini-MLE would be for just a year, unless it's an insanely good deal for a long term player.

Hope for 2014 free agency. Unfortunately for that year I think it's LeBron or bust, since I don't see anyone else worth a max contract that year. No, I don't think Carmelo is a championship level franchise player.

Without Bird rights on a player I don't think it really does. Kobe's $30 million plus the other guys left (Nash at $10m, Hill, Blake) already puts them at something like $50 million even if they amnesty Pau. Might get a B level player, but with the goal of clearing space for 2014, more likely 2-3 role players for 1 year.

He's not going anywhere. He crapped out in the Playoffs. No Kobe & he proved he's not a #1 option. He can't go anywhere else

I'm guessing that Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, and Cleveland will all make their pitch and offer him the max. His play in February and March confirmed that he's a max player.

Proving that you can't beat the Spurs with none of the teams top 4 guards won't dissuade teams from offering him the maximum contract. Nobody expects him to be the only good player on a championship team. It's quite obvious that a championship team needs a dominant ball handler, but as a second option on offense (and only option on defense) he's still worth a maximum deal.

Given his injuries he might feel less invincible and want the security of extra money and extra years, which is reasonable.

what the hell are you talking about?

He already has proven he is a number 1 option by carrying the Magic to the finals or did you forget?

There's plenty of teams waiting to offer him their max deal to get him out of Los Angeles.

You just keep Pau for the year and maybe try to sign some role players. Then we go after some free agents in 2014.

I don't think that's what is going to happen though.

Could Brooklyn sign Dwight?  I'm worried that if Phil coaches there, Dwight will go.

No lol  not with Brook Lopez. Them signing Brook Lopez pretty much took them out of the Dwight sweepstakes.

It would have to be a S&T.

S&T only works with teams under the salary cap. Brooklyn has a $89 mill roster. So no way in hell can Dwight go to Brooklyn.
