Yeah. Some of u don't get it.

For the first 3 months, of our Big 4, only 1 played like that.

Kobe.

When Dwight played well, we looked real good. When Nash played solid, and the other two played well, we were hard to beat.

When Pau finally came back healthy, we were damn good.

Some people lack the patience to use actual analysis.

But as we gelled and got somewhat healthy our style of play changed and our record got better.

Comparing this roster to the one that got swept with Phil is dumb as hell.

Are the Spurs or Thunder or any team the same from 3 years ago?

Kobe and Randle led Lakers lead the team to a 32-50 record. the Lakers select Myles Turner with the 5th pick.

We need to do something because, we can't have all our perimeter players be in their late 30's and have a change to hang with top contender teams. With 3 Mill we can hope that OJ Mayo can take 3 Mill to play for his hometown team

It should motivate the team as a unit if they feel like 2014 really is the end. The Celtcs almost snuck into the Finals last year playing as if their lives were on the line.

Plus, we will add at least one decent piece.

Am I one of the few realizing that our second half push was mostly due to this guy named Kobe?

I'm sorry, but it's true: players can make coaches look wonderful sometimes.  Sam Mitchell is a great example, a coach who won the COTY award after a 47-win season and, two years later, was fired by Toronto and never hired by another NBA team to date.

Very little we did in the second half had any imprint of Mike D'Antoni on it.  At one point, he even dismissed the idea of running his offense, and nearly slipped and said the team was doing whatever they wanted to do (which was true, because Nash almost said the same thing).

Now we're going to enter a second season with him...and likely without the Kobe we saw in February-April of 2013.

Meanwhile, Howard averaged 20/15 or so against the Spurs in the first round, and still...nothing, because we don't have a compatible team, or the right coach, to play the correct way.

I'm almost to the point where I just don't give a [expletive] about the team until the 2014 free agency period, if we're going to go another round of this garbage with the mindset that we would have been an elite squad if it wasn't for injuries.

We may not be GM's, but we've seen teams like Charlotte and Toronto make the wrong decisions for years.  Most of us believe in Mitch, but even he has to answer to someone else.

Those wins over Toronto and New Orleans don't happen without Kobe. Those were the games that gave us hope and kept us alive in the play-off chase.

Yet we have a coach that says our hero, leader and soul of this team is just a fan. I think we have nothing to play for if we have MDA back for next season. With a good coaching staff and just 2-3 mediocre role players, this core can do wonders. Just trade Pau if you can't get decent players via mle etc. and we are good to go. But it starts with a good staff and MDA along with 9.738 assistants are not gonna fullfil our hopes.

I don't get that economical issue everybody's been talking about. Tell me, we keep MDA and do nothing in the play-offs just because we dont wanna pay another coach and this is a good move economically? Here is a crazy idea: if we get to the finals with another coach, we MIGHT benefit more. Just a thought, nothing serious...

They don't happen without Dwight being healthier either.

This is an almost identical situation to the end of last year.  Most of us knew changes needed to happen at the top, but it took the desperation of an 1-4 start to get management to see the light of day.  They'll end up firing MDA early next year.  It would be much better to do it RIGHT NOW.

This is just a cover story...

How many times has the Lakers Organization released statements explaining how they are not going to make major moves?

Lets take a look at the more recent examples.

Last Offseason (No Major Changes) - Acquires Steve Nash and Dwight

Mike Brown (Jim Buss and Mitch where satisfied with his work) - A few weeks later... fired

But is D'antoni still part of plan A? I'm more worried about that.

Not really the point. At all.

We expect a healthy Dwight next year. Yet, even with a healthier Dwight in March, we still had to have Kobe play hero ball to pull us out of the abyss on multiple occasions late in the season.

Kobe didn't have to play hero ball, he had to hit big shots.

That's what he is supposed to do.

In those 28 wins or lets say 45 wins, how many we're based on hero ball? Weren't we better when Kobe passed or took less shots?

It wasnt ALL on Kobe.
Meeks and Jamison found a role. Steve Blake too. Earl Clark was balling for a while.

I'm talking very specifically about those games down the stretch when his teammates didn't have it and Kobe did. Those were more than just big shots. Those were all-time performances by Kobe.

We need better overall production next year. I think we can get it, but I was just pointing out agreement with what was accurately stated about us needing Kobe to put up elite performances against sub par teams just for us to eke out wins and barely reach the playoffs. Performances that we may never see again.
