No he doesn't

He plays for the Celtics, but his favorite team growing up was always the Lakers and he still holds them in his heart.

He doesn't despise the Lakers   Far from it to be honest.

i swear i read/heard somewhere about pierce ranting on the lakers and how he absolutely hates them

If you're talking about when he was bashing Ray Allen.  He was talking about going to a team that's your rival after losing to them.

Piere doesn't hate the Lakers, heck he doesn't even hate Kobe and was even surprised he was booed at the All-star game in Los Angeles.  he still reps Cali, don't let the green fool you ;)

Kobe actually also has admitted that Pierce and Garnett are actually people he likes.

That's why it was bittersweet when we beat them last year(when it was still allen, garnett, pierce) cause Kobe said "unlike other scenario's these are guys we actually like"

So it's not that Pierce hates the Lakers, he is just extremely competitive and acknowledges their rivalry and was mad at Ray for going to the Heat cause it would have been the equivalent of him going to the Lakers after losing to them.

He'd rather tough it out and find a way to beat them than to turncoat and go ring chasing after losing to them.

That doesn't mean he hates the Lakers, it just means he'd see it as an easy way out.

But as is said, it may not be up to him and this is a different scenario.

ray allen really didn't have anything against the heat. paul pierce on the other hand despises the lakers

Which is why the Clippers make so much sense.

I would sign him up for the mle. He is a competitor. Would work well at the SF position. Defends well and wouldn't.have to work as hard on offense with Dwight and Kobe.

Pierce at the 3?

I'd have no problem with that.

I know Dallas almost got him anyway, and I'm sure they'll offer him big bucks to come on board if Boston buys him out.

I wouldn't spend the MLE on Pierce.

Vets minimum perhaps.

But then again if I'm gonna spend money it's gonna be on getting Webster out here and if we get Webster and Clark there's no need to get Pierce.

I thought we were trying to get younger and more athletic at the 3 spot?

Would be a 3 , then eventually a 6.
Def worth the mle.

You CAN'T leave Pierce OPEN.

He is a more reliable spot up range shooter than Kobe. Pierce is a champ and would fit.

I don't know how much Heat pay for Ray for Paul is better.

If he started, we would still be slow but more effective in both transition and half-court with Paul but I would use him as the 6th man like Andre Miller.

I think the people singing the praises of Paul Pierce did not watch this season, or especially the playoffs.  He can't defend, he is slow, old, not an assassin when he is wide open like he used to be, basically just a great name on the back of the jersey for a guy that can't play very well anymore.  Obviously he would fit in perfectly, I don't think you could come up with someone better for the Lakers at this point, unless they can coax Rasheed or Iverson out of retirement.

I did watch Pierce in the reg season and playoffs. Had an okay year but his role here is more suited to his skillset.

I feel like with the shots Metta got, are shots you can't give to Pierce.

Teams routinely allowed him to take open shots, he is super old, the Lakers can do better.

If he is bought out by the Celtics and we have a opportunity to acquire him you are stupid if you don't consider it. I understand we need to get younger and athletic on the perimeter but PP is a veteran you snap up if can be had for cheap. Obviously we only have the MMLE and VM to
offer him so basically we only get him if he wants to be a Laker. If we did somehow snag him I would likely use him in the 6th man role as he could be our Ginobli off the bench. It also gives u a proven scorer that can give Kobe more rest time. Would he be alright with a bench role
and would DAntoni do this? Well that's another story lol. I have to say I think he could
end up in LA but possibly as a Clipper though. The Clippers may think about a KG trade if Pierce is bought out because they know that's
the Celts are most likely going into rebuild mode then. KG doesn't want a part of that so assuming he doesn't retire he will most likely waive his no trade clause. If this trade occurred then the Clippers know they pretty much entice Pierce to sign there and they also have the full MMLE to give. Scary thought if CP3 resigns with the Clippers.
