The role players haven't stepped up that much most of this series.  Which is why Parker, Duncan and Ginobli have to play extended minutes.

And fyi for those saying "it's the playoffs you get more rest, it's different"

Here's a look at this series so far.

Game 1: Monday
Game 2: Wednesday
Game 3: Friday
Game 4: Sunday
Game 5: Tuesday
Game 6: Thursday
Game 7: Sunday

The only time there's gonna be a 2 day period is if there is a game seven.

But for the last 5 games it's only been 24 hours of rest, which is very similar to the season grind.  The only difference is there's no back to backs.  But it ain't "as much rest" as people think for this series.  Especially in the second round.

Well before-hand, the Warriors got 4 days of rest and the Spurs got a week of rest. It's different than a long stretch of 82 games where it's mostly 1 day of rest in between.

The role players played well in game 1. Leonard had 18 and Green had 22.

Because they both ended their series early.  I'm talking about the course of this series in general.

For the Spurs this series it is

38+ mins
Day of rest
38+ minutes
Day of rest

35-38+ minutes
Day of rest
38-40+ minutes
Day of rest

It's gonna catch up to them no matter how much rest they got prior, I think that week of rest was rendered irrelevant by that first double overtime game followed by another heavy minutes game 24 hours later.

Tony Parker is running and playing his heart out but you can see the exhaustion on his face.

They aren't gonna last much longer if Pop doesn't wrap up the series in the next 2 games.

I've always liked Steve Blake.

They would get 2 days rest between game 6 and game 7 like you've mentioned already.

I wonder if NOT playing them heavy mins during the regular season, hurt them because now, when they need to play 40+ mins in a game, they don't know how...

I swear Jarrett Jack can be such a black hole on offense sometimes that his ball stopping actually hurts the team.

When he has it going its great but when he's off and still chucking early in the shot clock or isolating too long it hurts them.

Keep going through Barnes, San Antonio has no one that can defend him.   Shame it took Jackson two games to realize it =p

Green has delivered today. Manu 's last shot was a horrible miss. And now TimD misses everything

Overall close game despite Curry and Thompson under control

Curry is not shooting well at all. GSW is hanging on mainly due to Barnes.

And Klay has been a no show today so far.

Jack gains momentum with the three and then loses the momentum with his ball stopping

If Thompson does not wake up from his slump .. and Curry continues to be ineffective ..  GSW will lose

Barnes and Landry and Jack can only do so much.  Bogut is a liability on offense

Yep, not a good day for the splash brothers to have off games.

Glad they're still in it but Thompson needs to get out of that slump as well as Curry.

Thompson has been terrible since game 2.

He and Curry has been a 2 man wrecking crew - wrecking their own team.

Dang Curry with only 9 pts and Klay with 2 pts.

And they took 21 shots for those 11 pts

The Spurs playoff experiences and Warriors youthfulness is finally showing in this game. Also, Gregg Popovich is showing on why he is one of the best coaches in the NBA. Ever since Game 3, the Spurs have made adjustments to slow down the Warriors offense, I know the Warriors won Game 4 but they really had to work hard to win that game.

Just fine actually.  How's the Spurs winning in 5 working out for you?

Just pray that Klay and Curry remain off :)
