MIAMI -- The worst-kept secret among NBA award recipients will be formally revealed Sunday when Miami Heat star LeBron James is named Most Valuable Player for the fourth time, league sources confirmed Friday.

James has been voted MVP for the second straight season and for the fourth time in the past five years. He'll join Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Wilt Chamberlain with at least four MVP awards.

The only suspense remaining is in the final tally and how far James has distanced himself in the voting from other candidates this season that include Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant and Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers.

He's a beast. What do you expect? The only question is, how long can he keep it up?

Its funny all you guys in here praising him for an award that contradicts itself every year

They change the criteria every single year to fit the player they want to give it to..

You mean to tell me kobe '' the reason kobe cant win mvps is he is playing with shaq''

and lebron wins 2 playing with 2 other allstars

STOP THE NONSENSE PEOPLE

lebron is a good player but the politics of the situation are in his favor

No one else really deserved it, I mean sure you can bring up Paul, Melo and Durant. But in the end MIami, had the best record, amazing streak, Lebron had amazing numbers. Im not a fan of the guy, but he really derserved it this year for sure.

really ...... so how do you justify kobe having 1. Kobe plays with one allstar plays well and is not even considered

lebron plays with 2 of the top 10 players in the league and wins 2...So your argument is pretty weak

So in your opinion, who deserved it over him the last 4 out of 5 years?

kobe's MVP count is completely and utterly unrelated to lebron's MVP count. you have no chance of winning this argument so my suggestion is don't try because it will get really embarrassing really fast

Difference is, Kobe and Shaq split votes.  They were arguably the two best players in the NBA at the time (with Tim Duncan).

Wade and Bosh aren't taking any votes from LeBron.  There is no argument when it comes to who runs the show in Miami.
