I don't see the Flippers trading their love child Blake across the hall. Sterling couldn't stomach that. Even if it landed them Dwight

to be honest I can't wait for the 2013 - 2014 season to be over so we can have cap room.  I am not looking forward to the next season at all thanks to Lakers stubborness of keeping MDA.

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.

That is the exact way I see it. I want to see him as a Laker and I want him to understand that there is a legacy at stake and he can become one of the best big mans ever for the best franchise.
But again if he doesn't see that then we have to let him walk. I just don't see Cp3 and Howard to the Clippers. We can't sign Dwight then trade him for cap reason.

If the Lakers are smart, they would do a sign in trade with Dwight to the Warriors and get Clay Thompson who grew up as a Laker fan if D12 wants to leave. The only problem is D12 probably dont want to go to Golden State so Lakers can't do the trade. We can only do a trade if D12 willing to go to that destination.

Can't we just sign CP3 and Howard and just pay a [expletive] ton of Luxury taxes 1 year? Or is that against the rules?

Hell, amnesty Kobe and sign those 2 then have Kobe come back in 2014....

If the Clippers wouldn't trade Griffin to Orlando, and a completely different part of the country where they'd only see him twice a year, I find it next to impossible to believe they'd deal him across the hall to the team they've so desperately tried to be.

D"Antoni and Griffin, this Laker team would be buried in first round exits and draft lotteries for over a decade of it happened.

They indeed would have to amnesty Kobe, and do you really think the Lakers or Kobe would ever go for that?  They'd all have to take a massive pay cut, the Lakers would still pay an enormous payroll and luxury tax and then somehow find the money to round out the rest of the team.

When all is said and done my money's on Chris Paul staying with the Clippers, Dwight staying with the Lakers and both teams building around their stars once again.

Even better, amnesty Pau then sign CP3. That possible?

Don't look for a million possibilities, the only way we get CP3 is if he decided to get an enormous paycut for 1 year.

That's how I understand it but I just wanted to know if the other ones are a possibility, even if it's less than a percent?

If you could just pay a ton of luxury tax for 1 year it would be worth it long term to have Dwight and CP on your team.

Even if we amnesty Pau, we are over the cap and can't afford CP3.

The only way a sign and trade goes down for ATL is if Dwight values money over talent. If Dwight is signed and traded he receives more than if he were to sign outright. But if it means worsening his championship chances, it won't happen.

Yeah I get that we're way over the cap even with Pau amnestied but I'm just asking if there's a hard cap I guess?

I get that it's not likely, but just curious if there's rules for that.

Why would you amnesty Pau?  If the Lakers were to deal him you would at least try to get something for him.

Also, it won't happen.  Sometimes I wish this amnesty provision never existed - so completely tired of everyone running to it as their go-to fix for a team that is woefully over the cap no matter what salary they shed.

If you could somehow amnesty Pau to get CP3....which again I know is the biggest miracle in the world you wouldn't do that? It'd be like trading Pau for CP3.....

Of course.

But he doesn't get you Chris Paul, so it's irrelevant to make that move.

Can he go to Boston? I think playing with Rondo, and a bunch of spot up shooters would be the best thing for him

Ive been thinking about if D12 and Cp3 came to ATL....

Braves 1st Place World Series Contenders

Falcons Superbowl Contenders that bspn NEVER talks about

Hawks Finals Conteders

Would be great for the A thats for damn sure.
And theres been talk about a new Hawks Stadium, even though Phillips Arena is freaking awesome.
