Jodie Meeks was brought in to be one of the focal scorers on our bench and to be able to take time off of Kobe's minutes because of his scoring capability.

While he stayed on point career average wise he seemed to be a letdown in general to fans who deemed him as inconsistent, streaky and one dimensional.

Andrew Goudelock started the pre-season on the team but obviously seemed to have a lot of things he needed to work on.

Went down to the D-league and got trained specifically on being a point guard and a combo guard and added more elements to his game,  won D-league MVP and scored 20 points in his first playoff game and first playoff start, and then subsequently followed it up with a 14 point game though shooting percentage was lower than would be desired.

But he showed versatility in finishing at the basket and getting shots off the screens and seemed to have a broader horizon of things to offer than Meeks on the offensive end.

Many would like to see what Goudelock could do on the floor with a Steve Nash or a Steve Blake or even a Kobe Bryant as it seems Goudelock can be more than just a spot up shooter(which is all Meeks seems to be)  and was touted by Ron Artest as the "second best scorer on the team" with Kobe being the first.

Goudelock would also undoubtedly come cheaper.

So what would you guys do?   Keep and develop Goudelock for next year and let Meeks go?  Or do you let Goudelock go and hope Meeks has a better year next year?

Just curious, why the super tiny font?

Anyway, Glock easily. He can actually create his own shot, has a very effective floater from various spots on the court, and won't blow as many lay-ups like Meeks or Fisher.

Also, he's probably pretty cheap to be had, not that Meeks isn't either, but Glock even more and in this time that we're in, every potential saving counts even more.

Edit: Lol nvm the tiny font, just saw that you fixed it.

Keep Meeks, and have both compete.

I believe Meeks has a " team option " in his contract

Oh and I chose, goudelock

Meeks can't even create his own damn shot. We need more guys that can do that, we hardly have any. Their 3ball is somewhat of a toss-up, other than that, Glock can do more and has shown so when given the chance.

yeah, Goudelock being able to score off the screen and off the dribble not only helps Kobe or Nash or Blake but it helps Dwight too.

We can run these kinds of lineups with Goudelock

Nash/Goudelock
Blake/Goudelock
Goudelock/Kobe
Nash/Goudelock/Kobe
Blake/Goudelock/Kobe

These kinds of lineups where all 3 guys can go get their own shot while also being good shooters REALLY would open up the floor for Dwight and make life a lot easier for him.

Pretty much that.  He is good at playing passing lanes but he needs to learn to shrink the floor better

yeah, one seems to have more elements of his game ironed out or at least the blueprint on how to do stuff.

When Goudelock fakes off the dribble and takes it to the basket or shoots off the dribble it seems natural.

When Meeks does it you almost always expect a turnover

Glock can create off the dribble consistently...has the same amount of effectiveness from distance as meeks

I like meeks size & hustle but he has no dribble game and is terrible in transition

gimme Glock

Can "don't know" be changed to "neither"?

Or can it be added? Lol.

Anyway, yes, Goudelock is able to create his own shot, but Lakers should look for better options during the off-season.

Andrew Goudelock: "Two weeks ago, I didn't think I was getting a call up. I was getting ready to go to Puerto Rico."

Andrew Goudelock said he only earned $24,000 in the D-League this year

Puerto Rico gig was going to pay him 5K a week

Andrew Goudelock said Lakers want him to work out in the summer. He doesn't have a place to live, though

Wow.... who knew Goudelock had it THAT rough.   He only had a place to live during the d-league season and the NBA season(the hotel rooms with teammates) but outside of that has no place to stay.... wow...

Goudelock said "nothing" could have beaten the opportunity to start for the Lakers in the playoffs.
