If he re signs I hope he puts is that overtime with Kareem

It's a little to late for that now, isn't it? He still doesn't have a O-game, 10 years in the league.

yeah he does.  -_- If he didn't he wouldn't be constantly double and triple teamed every night.

He's working with Hakeem this summer anyway too

Could we bring back his thread from last season? See if we could get it to 2000 pages?
Lol that thread activity was the highlight of the season for me!

Somebody has to get Dwight the ball in position to score.

With D-league guards, and Pau Gasol hanging out 15 feet from the rim, the Spurs were comfortable double and triple teaming Dwight.

These last two games were an anomaly. But, if these are the images some want to remember until next fall, then so be it. Can't change anything u til October.

Until then . . .

He had to say it. Magic ripped him. SAS was hysterical. ESPN and TNT were basically laughing at his lack of leadership and discipline (and offensive game). He absolutely had to come out and apologize for leaving his team out to dry and for the way this season turned out.

That's not to say it was entirely his fault. Of course it wasn't, we were decimated with injuries, coaching changes, yada yada yada. You could tell after the game that even the Spurs weren't really "satisfied" with that sweep I guess you could say, because our backcourt consisted of Morris, Duhon, and Glock. That's pathetic. After the game when they asked Tony Parker how it felt to sweep LA he kinda smirked and said it was "weird, because they were missing some guys".

But anyway, even though Dwight wasn't entirely to blame, that's what leaders do. Take the hit. Kobe has been doing it for years. And whether it was out of necessity or it was sincere (or both) it was the right thing to apologize for that joke of a season, series, and for getting DQ'd.

"I hope I get the chance to make it up to you!"

"I Hope" means he wants to stay a Laker but recognizes there's a possibility that he may not.

Good quote.
Its business from here out. Pay the man.

Summer of working out with Hakeem and finally being able to get into healthy shape and full beast mode run for 48 minutes and never get tired Dwight is something I DESPERATELY want on this team next year.  Very desperately!

Loved that. Can't wait to see him 100% and dominating every single minute he's on the floor next season.

Really like that he came out and said this right away.

Gonna show support, he obviously does love playing here, we just gotta now start building around him and Kobe.

I think this off-season could be a better one than is expected.  Of course we have to re-sign Dwight first but I think we'll be a much better team next year player wise.

I understand you love Kobe, we all do.  There is no GM in this league that would build a team around him at this point.  He embodies everything you do not want to build a team around.  Old, injured literally every season, potential career ending if not just career changing injury this season, tons of minutes logged, in decline.  Kobe is a great player, one of the greatest of all time, he can be a huge contributor to a winning team (if he comes back healthy, and that is a huge if).  He is not the cornerstone of a franchise anymore.  Father time is undefeated, and will remain that way.  If this team spends money this offseason and tries to win now, they will pay for that mistake for several seasons.  Everyone has to rebuild, even the Lakers.

"It seemed like nothing could go right, right from the start, injuries and all that stuff. We get an opportunity to get some rest for guys who are injured. A chance to rehab and think about what we can all do to better ourselves."

When asked if the last part of that statement reflected optimism toward returning, Howard said: "You're reading too much into it."

From a larger yahoo article.  I think his return is 50/50.

I am tired of D12 always playing games with the fans.  He always put himself as a victim in all of this.  I agree with Shaq. If you want to stay just say you returning. If you dont want to, just say you leaving. Stop jerking us off and saying all this crap. The Lakers is not the Orlando Magic. We are an organization that is bigger than any player. Yes even Jordan or Lebron.  "Give me a chance" YOu kidding me?!! Its not like the Lakers have a choice to sign him or not. They said they will already. It is up to him. He made it sound like he has no control over his future with the lakers.

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.

But seriously, much respect. Thanks for the hard work Dwight, see you next year bigger, faster and stronger.

This could be telling

@ArashMarkazi
As Pau is talking to the media, Dwight is talking to Jeanie and touching the Larry O'Brien trophies in her office.

Rich Mans, Tyson Chandler.  :cool2:

I hope he comes back too, but I was agreeing with what Reggie Miller was saying. Why do our Centers always get ejected in sweeps?!?

If he goes to Houston he can play with that wannabe Kobe, that shoots 35% in the PO.
