Statement from Dwight via twitter

"Im still upset about tonights game and the way this season ended. Im mad I lost my cool. Im sorry for letting my team and our fans down when they needed me the most. If there’s one thing I’ve learned this year its that I need to be more responsible for my actions and learn to to “breathe”! (Maybe I will take up yoga and come back calmer or charlie sheen can help me with my anger management).  But despite our tough season, it is an honor being a member of a team with this amazing history & the best fans in the league! I hope I get the chance to make it up to you!” Thank u la.

Nice to see him taking responsibility and initiative.  He has nothing to be ashamed of though.   I hope you make it up next year too Dwight and hope to see you here!!

Really like that he came out and said this right away.

Gonna show support, he obviously does love playing here, we just gotta now start building around him and Kobe.

I think this off-season could be a better one than is expected.  Of course we have to re-sign Dwight first but I think we'll be a much better team next year player wise.

Would be a "[expletive] ass move" if he left now.

Behind Dwight 100%. He is the future of this franchise. When fully healthy, there are few in the league who can compare. Let's hope for a productive offseason and some time to heal and grow.

Yeah I agree with that 100 percent.

I think we can all agree that we want a Dwight Howard after a full off-season of working out and getting in shape to be here for a while, and not on some other team.  Especially in the wonderful guy dancing in your gif's final years :)

Saying the right things, but only time will tell. I say we make this the Dwight watch thread for the off season.

I am glad that Dwight said them.  I think a lot of fans would be on pins and needles for the next two weeks and if he walked outside wearing a red shirt they'd panic.  So I think him saying this put a lot of minds at least a little more at ease.

I doubt it. Dwight will likely say nothing from now until he signs and the media will take advantage of that and write a bunch of BS claiming they've been told from sources. Anytime the Lakers are involved rumors surface every hour.

He deserves a break.

But at least the new rumors that will come while he's relaxing are of what free agents could be coming.

Rumors will be starting as soon as those teams are eliminated from the playoffs =p

He deserves a break but it won't stop the rumors of what team he's leaning towards. I fully expect the media to milk the [expletive] out of this. People always tune into anything Lakers.

Everybody needs to get healthy. If there is going to be a coaching change, the sooner the better, so training camp can be done.

He would more than make up for it if he stays in LA.

Like I said, he has an entire off-season to workout now.

The fact that he was able to do what he did not being 100% makes me look forward to him HERE after an entire off-season to find himself and to go work out with Hakeem some more.

Most important thing now is add some pieces to the roster that can get Kobe some rest.

We're top heavy but the benefit of being top heavy is that you can focus an entire off-season on deepening your bench.

Rich Mans, Tyson Chandler.  :cool2:

I hope he comes back too, but I was agreeing with what Reggie Miller was saying. Why do our Centers always get ejected in sweeps?!?

If he goes to Houston he can play with that wannabe Kobe, that shoots 35% in the PO.
