The Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated from the 2013 NBA Playoffs in four games by the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday, finishing a season in which beloved owner Jerry Buss passed away, Mike Brown was fired and controversially replaced by Mike D'Antoni, Kobe Bryant tore his Achilles tendon amid countless other injuries and the team was unable to fully incorporate Dwight Howard.

“Like a nightmare," said Howard on his first season with the Lakers. "It’s like a bad dream and we just couldn’t wake up from it. That’s what it felt like.”

Howard underwent back surgery last spring and came back earlier than expected, but was far from his dominant former self.

Howard will be a free agent in the offseason.

"Going to step away from everything for a couple weeks and clear my head before I do or talk about anything as far as next season."

"Love me or hate me it's one or the other. Always has been. Hate my game, hate my swagger, hate my fade-away, my hunger, hate that i'm a veteran, A champion, hate that. Hate it with all your heart, and hate that i'm loved for the exact same reasons." - Kobe

It was. By far the toughest season any player in the NBA has gone through. Harder than lebron. Lebron was 100% whole season and ended up getting to the finals. Yes losing but still getting there. He had to fight through injurys, hounds of reporters, bad coaches, etc. I really understand his frustration. Though he still knows that the lakers are always wanting to win. They will spend all the money possible to make it happen. He knows this and I think him and mitch have a decent understanding.

I feel like magic's announcement is more of a moment.

shaq being traded we all saw coming and kobe flirting with the clippers and bulls was tough but he stayed, kobe wanting out was tough but as far as the season he stayed and the team played around where it was supposed to, and eventually Bynum emerged and pau was traded here

this season saw countless injuries, expectations destroyed, our future star unhealthy for 80% of the season, and the face of our franchise tear his Achilles, on top of struggling to make the playoffs after spurning the coach who brought us 5 rings

In my 35 years it was tough but not the worst..

1- Magics Announcement
2- Shaq traded, Kobe wants out
3- This season

Can't blame him for feeling that way. During the season he had to be politically correct and act like it would be okay but let's be real here. That had to be pretty hard to do.....
