I was hoping we'd sign Ronnie Brewer (instead of Elias Harris) and a defensive PF. Originally I thought Tyrus Thomas would be an ideal fit with his ability to protect the rim, but his health concerns me. Ivan Johnson would be another option, but the Knicks are reportedly looking into him. Those players would certainly help the defense.

DeShawn Stevenson anybody? If you want any player that's better than Jodie defensively it's him and Ronnie Brewer.

On twitter he stated he wanted to play for the Miami Heat. Besides, his knees have been a concern.

The Knicks seemingly have unlimited roster spots.

They're looking to round out their roster once they sign Ivan Johnson or Deshawn Stevenson.

If we can get Tyrus Thomas the 13-14 Lakers will be the ultimate re-deem team.

Next Guys in line: Gilbert Arenas and Allen Iverson.

If Indiana doesn't want Tyrus I would take an athletic 26 year old sf/pf that needs to play for a contract any day. A very good role player

Idea: Michael Beasley

It looks like the Suns are looking to waive or stretch Michael Beasley. Should we try to get him?

I've always like the dude, despite his weird ways, and he is a good scorer/rebounder who should thrive in a MDA system. Also, he is one of the guys who needs to redeem himself.

I'd rather get someone that plays defense. The Lakers have more than enough capable scorers.

Even if Beasley transformed into a consistent scorer and average defender, would it be better to focus on rebounding? Kaman won't be able to replace Dwight's boards or defense (Solid defense > opponent misses shot > grab rebound)

I agree. Lost two bigs and only brought in one. Not trying to be negative...,. BUT.... I don't trust the bigs we have to pay all season on hurt.. They all have their own problems. Except Sacre... An Ivan Johnson would give some toughness and some added help. Is he signed?

The Knicks are highly considering adding him.

We're still a few defenders short of being able to do much this year and there are still quality defenders out there to be had.

Guys like Delonte West, Ronnie Brewer and Tyrus Thomas all would be good additions.

I think we should sign all of them, if possible, and then try to move Blake and Meeks for a trade exception and a second rounder.

Moving Blake and Meeks and then signing West, Brewer, and Tyrus would improve our defense in multifarious ways. I highly doubt it'll happen though. We'll probably just sign another player and call it quits.
