Who's Bobby Brown?

former R&B singer and whitney Houston's former husband. avid cocaine enthusiast. Lakers taking a chance on the guy. at worst he is free halftime entertainment

Kenyon Martin can still ball. Showed it in his brief time with the Clippers and then with the Knicks last season. He still brings instant energy, toughness, solid defense, shot-blocking at the rim, and can finish around the rim as well as a better jump shot than Dwight's, which is basically non-existant and can hit free throws.

^ Good. The last thing this team needed was cocaine in the locker room.

@LakersReporter Among those working out for the Lakers this morning in advance of the summer league roster being finalized: Chris Douglas-Roberts.

Seriously, Josh Powell and Sasha Vujacic?? Why are we looking at guys whose been out the league for two years?

C'mon, how hard can it be?

Wesley Johnson and Michel Pietrus both need a revival.

Gary Neal and Ronnie Brewer? Ryan Gomes perhaps?

How about Keith Bogans, Barbosa, Dahntay Jones, Daniel Gibson, Terrence Jones, Delonte West, Chris Douglas-Roberts.

For some reason this has turned into [expletive]ing rocket science, which it isn't.

It's because they only want to sign guys to 1 year deals to keep 2014 cap space. That's why LA has been getting subpar free agents like Kaman, Farmar, etc. I predicted in a another thread how with just 1 year vet min contracts they would probably have to go grab DLeague talent, and that's exactly what's been happening. Farmar, Sasha, Powell, these guys aren't even NBA players anymore.

Corey Maggette was on Mason & Ireland today where he revealed that he’d sign for the veteran’s minimum if it meant being able to play for the Los Angeles Lakers:

If you talk about the Lakers…that would definitely be a huge plus, man. You can’t beat playing for one of the greatest organizations in basketball, having an opportunity to play with Kobe and the guys that they have on there.

Of course I’d do it for the minimum. If you have an opportunity to play with that team? Definitely.

What do you guys think about Corey Maggette? Is he too old to contribute at SF?
