I dont know realistically who we can get but we definitely need to be aggressive.

Let me assume we get rid of all of our bench aside from Hill & maybe Goudelock

1. We need shot creators/penetrators/shot makers at the point

Devin Harris

Darren Collison

Nate Robinson

Will Bynum

Jarrett Jack

Dj Augustin

Beno Udrih

Dream scenario: Brandon Jennings

2. We need somebody that come come off the bench and not only spell kobe, but possible fill in for the first half of next year

Tyrke Evans

Randy Foye

Martell Webster

Nick Young

3. Athletic Wing that can spot up and shoot and defend..get MWP outta here

Trevor Ariza

Dorrell Wright

Chase Budinger

Dream scenario: Iggy

4. Re-Sign Dwight

NO! We let Ebanks, Duhon, Sacre and Glock walk.

Meeks, Hill and Clark are keepers or trade chips. Blake and Metta needs to be moved / amnestied - whatever saves the most money / gets the best player.

1. We need shot creators/penetrators/shot makers at the point

Devin Harris

Darren Collison

Nate Robinson

Will Bynum

Jarrett Jack

Dj Augustin

Beno Udrih

Dream scenario: Brandon Jennings. For the mini-midlevel? Not happening. Best case is Jarrett Jack, which is a stretch. Realistically, i'd say Devin Harris.

2. We need somebody that come come off the bench and not only spell kobe, but possible fill in for the first half of next year

Tyrke Evans

Randy Foye

Martell Webster. Perhaps sign this guy for the mini-midlevel.

Nick Young

3. Athletic Wing that can spot up and shoot and defend..get MWP outta here

Trevor Ariza

Dorrell Wright

Chase Budinger

Dream scenario: Iggy. Not happening either, unless we trade for him, which also is a stretch. The other 3 would be awesome, but Ariza is under contract and Wright and Budinger probably wont sign for mini-midlevel.

4. Re-Sign Dwight. A no-brainer.

So far i've used the mini-midlevel 3 times...

I think we should aim at getting the best available player for the mini-midlevel, regardless of position (those you mentioned) and then fill out the roster with minimum level guys as well as make a few moves with some of the pieces we have.

I think there is a market for a guy like Jordan Hill and while I like what he brings to the table, I think that when you have both Pau and Dwight in your front-court (and possibly Earl Clark or Jamison) I think it would be relatively easy to replace him.

Play with what you can next season and rebuild, remove the bad contracts.  This free agent class is a joke compared to next season.

Can we get a nobody and turn them into a solid role player by giving him a role!?!

and I think Earl Clark started playing bad when Pau came back because he was never given a role

Pinned.

Let's try and keep all free agent discussion in here, that's going to be tough with the Lakers always being linked to players but we'll do our best to keep it updated.  MDI is pretty good at keeping stuff up to date.

I would only bring in Calderon if Pau stays and that seems unlikely. Kyle Lowry is staying in Toronto for sure. I would love to have Nate Robinson and/or J.R Smith on this team, instant offense.

Going to be a really sketchy off-season cap and tax issues going to be a big problem!

Re-sign Dwight, Goudelock, and Sacre for insurance...

Team Option out Meeks!

Maybe MWP might be Amnestied or use his player option.

Either Keep Pau or trade him.

I would love to have JR Smith, but he took LESS money to play in NY over LA. He seems really happy in NY and I highly doubt he leaves, at least not for what we have to offer.

I think a guy that could be had for cheap is Darren Collison. He had a rough year in Dallas but could help speed things up off the bench and can create a shot for himself. Plus, he is a fairly good defender if I am not mistaken (I can only judge by what I've seen against the Lakers). He came from Indiana last season, which really preaches defense.

I'd really like to see someone like OJ Mayo come to LA, especially if we somehow got Phil Jackson back. He would fit the triangle flawlessly.

40% from 3-pt range this year, can play the 1 or 2. He can defend guys like Westbrook respectably. Not gonna shut them down of course, but who can?

It has been forever since we've had a reserve guard who can create a shot for himself. He's not super athletic, but he's young, can handle the ball, can shoot, can defend the point guards who usually shred us (at least better than Blake and Nash).

He's a guy who could definitely get Kobe and Nash some rest, and he would allow us to have some roster flexibility since he's a legit combo guard.

Another guy at the top of my list is Jarrett Jack. I don't know how realistic either player is though, they're both pretty solid. Could be starters, for the right team.

Everyone the Lakers bring in this off-season need to be athletic.  There's no ifs and buts about it.

Players like Martell Webster, Ronnie Brewer, CJ Miles, and Chase Budinger are a few that come to mind when talking about athletic perimeter players.

As of now, there are only three players that will be back with starting jobs IMO, Dwight, Kobe, and Nash.  Those are the only shoe ins for starters, so the front office has work to do.

Ronnie Brewer... would be good as Kobe's backup good defender and pretty good shot maker

He shoots 49 % percent in his career, granted not as many shots attempts

We should have traded Dwight to Cleveland for Kyrie Irving and some nice fillers. Nash is not cutting it at all and Kyrie is a [expletive]in monster. Get him and some picks we can build after Kobe leaves. I love Dwight but I love a awesome PG better than a awesome center.

That's a GREAT idea.  Just one problem, Cleveland wouldn't do that because Dwight wouldn't re-sign there.
