With Kobe out I think we can add some names on the cheap that we can tread water with until Kobe comes back

PG Aaron Brooks/Devin Harris
SG Dorrell Wright/Anthony Morrow/Ben Gordon
SF Brandon Rush/Mike Dunleavy

Dunleavy would be the perfect 2nd unit SF. hes not super athletic but he can run the offense/facilitate, shoot 3s...you can put him next to Glock, Defensive 2 Guard, Hill, Clark.

The only problem with a majority of those guys is their lack of defensive abilities, which was our biggest problem this season. I would like to see the front office target guys with athleticism and quickness, because if I have to witness a guy like MWP or Jodie Meeks running a fast break next season I am going to pluck my eyes out with a fork.

Very true to what lakerfan0307 stated.

Aside from Aaron Brooks who has tremendous speed and Brandon Rush (Although his D has plummeted) are all defensive liabilities.

A Bench consisting of Steve Blake, Nick Young, Marco Bellineli, Earl Clark, Jordan Hill wouldn't be to shabby at all.

Bring Nick Young home and give him a long term contract (I heard that's what he really wants).

No FA move should be made until after we find out whether Dwight stays here or not and after the Lakers shop Pau. The Lakers probably go into full-rebuilding mode without Dwight here, so the Lakers probably wouldn't use their MLE. And, the Lakers needs would be different depending on if Pau stays or who gets traded for.

Pretty much Japago. We need the other dominoes to drop before we know what free agents to go after.

Whether Dwight stays or not we need shooters...having shooters would actually convince Dwight to come back...adding guys like Dunleavy, Morrow to strengthen the SG/SF 3 point shooting makes a ton of sense

For wing players, I'd say court Ariza back, but he'll probably want too much, unfortunately. Maybe pitch the come-back-home angle lol?

I like Rush too, but another post-surgery guy is iffy. I like what Brewer's done in Denver, but he might stay there. As for the highlighted players, all solid prospects, MDI.

Earl Clark, most inconsistent player of the year! I don't want him back, we can get a better SF annnnnd Jordan Hill is coming back healthy.

Nah that I think of it we should really try to push for JR Smith. I know he can be full of himself and ball hog but so does kobe. He can start until kobe gets back. Just image JR Smith coming in for kobe.

Who is restricted and who is unrestricted.  You really should edit your list according to that, it makes a huge difference.

If I had my pick without investigating player or team restrictions and without money trouble:

Kyle Lowry

Jeff Teague

OJ Mayo

DeJuan Blair

David West

Gary Neal

Josh Smith

Brandon Wright

Tony Allen

Dahntay Jones

Tyreke Evans

But I'd have to see how long it takes to get an actual coach in place, what deals are made on the Lakers end, what money they want to make, what they're making now and again, they're restriction status.  All important elements before you run at any player.

For now, I just listed players hat jumped out at me.

Oh would THAT be awkward.... :geek:

we need wings; and realisticly, we have a shot at a lot more players than you think,OP.

PGs -will bynum, nate rob, R.Beaubois, Augustin, Udrih, Patty Mills, Brian Roberts, Mo Williams, Mike James, Aaron Brooks, Calderon

SG/SF - Wayne Ellington, Randy Foye, Nick Young

ill add Lamar Odom to the list as well.

our bench needs one more player who can create off the dribble; im happy as hell that blake showed he can create a lil; now all we need is one more. shooters are overrated;as jodie meeks proved.

at least 15 players to target; if we dont get one player who can create off the dribble for our bench ,then we're screwed.

and Blake is a scrappy 6'3 so he can play SG. SGs rarely post up.
