We don't need to get rid of Meeks.

Sorry, we do and we will.

He isn't a defender the Lakers knew that when they brought him here.

It's like asking Korver to handle the ball and defend.

NEED to get rid of him, no the Lakers don't need to get rid of him.

I don't believe we have a option on Goudelock.  I could be mistaken but I just haven't read anything about that.

Bring him back regardless.  He's cheap and can be productive.  I like his game, he needs to get better defensively, but offensively he's above average.

I think Goudelock could do exactly what Meeks did for less money and he's better off the dribble with that little floater in the paint.

If only your preaching could get through to the homie fido.

I'm going to say this: If MDA is still here till the end of season press-conference, that means that MANAGEMENT wants him back next year. Until then, rest will be decided based on Dwight's wishes, and whether management will comply.

How would that suck? Sure Dwight left, but at least MDA is gone.

Meeks and Goudelock are system players. Give them a specific role in a system (like what Pop does with his roster), and they'll thrive. We don't need them to be versatile and do many different things for us on the floor, only to fulfill their roles. You use superstars as the main cogs in your system, but you need the roleplayers to come in and do what they need to. Try to make them do anything out of their comfort zone and they'll look pretty bad out there. If we had an actual system this season, both of them would have thrived as catch-and-shoot guys off the ball.

Sadly, after 6 months all we had was making a post-entry feed to Dwight and having 3 people stand like statues on the opposite side of the floor beyond the arc. D'Antoni is an offensive genius.

I have no attachment to Meeks, don't make it out that way.  The guy was brought here to do one thing.  he was rarely allowed to do that one thing.  Instead he was asked to do everything he is not good at and in turn he got injured and it killed what his strengths are.

I really don't care if he stays or goes, as long as D'Antoni is here - again - any and every roster move will be absolutely pointless.

I agree that Meeks is a catch and shoot guy and being asked to do more than is expected of him. However I feel we need a back up SG who can do more to limit Kobes minutes. Because no matter who the coach and whatever system he runs, if Meeks is off Kobe is going to go back in. Unless we can get a swingman that can play if Meeks is off then I can live with him staying. As Gotrings mentioned I wouldnt mind them picking his option up and using him as a trade chip if we retain Goudelock. Teams are always wanting shooters so it's a possibility we could get a pick (probably 2nd Rounder) or young prospect. All I know is Kobe needs as much rest as possible when or if he comes back next season.

You know what the very 1st order of business is? This is bigger than re-signing Dwight or getting a coach

Re-sign MITCH. I believe his contract ends next month. Jimmy better not screw this one up

It'd be good for the reason you mentioned, but still suck at the same time cause it's like, we do something for Dwight, great favor & all, and he's like, cool thanks, but I'm still leaving anyway, later haha.. Mitch be like, but I thought you let us decide it was either him or you, we chose you!? Dwight be like, that's why you don't trust clowns Mitch haha, now my paint my face. Ya' get me? A tad shady.

In 2.41 Kurt Rambis just spewed more knowledge about the Lakers and basketball than D'Antoni has in every single pre and post-game interview.

There has got to be huge roster changes in the offseason if the Lakers don't want a repeat of this season. The need for quick and athletic guards, better shooters, better defenders is obvious. Dwight needs to stay. Nash, Meeks, Metta and the rest of the bench has to go. And Dantoni needs to GTFO of LA.

We tested. We battle tested. We battle tested baby! We know what we gotta do.

Mike D'Antoni has two fans: Majesty and Jim Buss.  Unfortunately, one of their opinions counts.

Really quick...there's no point in talking about who we can hire to help D'Antoni on the defensive end, because he has shut down both the Knicks and Suns in the past when they made attempts to do it.  I believe it was why Gentry ended up in Phoenix, actually, and both Steve Kerr and Stephen A. Smith have discussed this.
