With MDA the storied LA Franchise descends into an abyss of biblical proportions. I'm reminded of what Beldar Conehead said: "...the stench will be great."

I think the Lakers would improve just by promoting Bickerstaff. Take that route if it's a must.

Honestly, I think nothing else matters if they don't fire D'Antoni. The Lakers may not be thinking that way, but it's true. The Lakers do need to upgrade the roster, but any roster won't get it done with him as coach.

Majesty, still supporting D'Antoni without any viable reasons whatsoever still.

Wow...

Japago:  Ding, ding, ding!  They can make all the moves they want but if they have D'Antoni on board, a coach who still doesn't know the personnel here, knows nothing of defense, has no offensive system, shows several signs of having no clue what it takes to win on a professional level and commands no respect from any player nothing positive will come of this Laker team.

It would be like trying to cure herpes with soap and water - ain't gonna happen.

Unless kobe or dwight requests it.  it isn't happening.

Don't see mitch forcing another transition period all over again.

Only way I see him being fired is if we start the season bad.

Thus, I'm focusing on player moves.

It's meaningless to say fire D'antoni because that likely won't happen during an "off-season".

The things I'm talking about are stuff that can happen before the season begins.

I don't see them firing D'antoni before the beginning of the season.

There's no transition period with a coach that comes in knowing the personnel and with an actual offensive and defensive scheme.  This whole transition rigamaroll is bunk if you hire a qualified coach.  All that is is an excuse for the incumbent coach to stay - and that ain't gonna fly here in Lakerland.

WhatUSaid: Hire Brian Shaw as soon as the Pacers are bounced.

Not happening.

The way Mitch and Jim feel about it and this season.

They likely aren't firing D'antoni at any "off-season" moment.  Unless Dwight or Kobe asked them to.

Then you can file the Lakers hopes for a championship away until D'Antoni is gone.

I will 100% guarantee this team will NEVER IN A MILLION SEASONS win a ring with Pringles on the bench or anywhere near Staples Center and L.A.

Then there's no point in watching the team until he's fired is there? :)

Till then just gonna say the moves I think will happen.   Not things people "want" to happen.

Realistically we're not firing D'antoni in an "off-season" so we have to look at player moves.

You got it Majesty, there is no reason to watch this team as long as  D'Antoni is the coach.

D'Antoni is a coaching cancer and he will drag this team into oblivion with him.

You can look at player moves all you want.  They won't make a lick of difference without a coach to guide them - not one.

Majesty supporting D'Antoni and saying he won't be fired is a good thing.

That turned out well earlier this season with Mike Brown :)

You don't know if I support D'antoni or not.

I'm saying though that firing him in the off-season is very unlikely so I'm not going to entertain that.

I openly supported Mike Brown.   Whether or not I support D'antoni remains to be said.

But one thing I'm pretty sure about is that the Lakers won't fire him in the off-season.   Not unless Kobe or Dwight asked for it.

So it's pointless to add that to the list cause it's as in the realm of possibility as me saying "convince the Knicks to take Gasol, and sign Carmelo"

Oh we know you support him Majesty, come on now.

You've made it abundantly clear all season long in the Gameday thread and in countless threads in the Lakers Talk Forum.  Now that the chickens have come home to roost don't start fading away from the stance you've taken all season long.

Where D'Antoni belongs is on the 2006 Suns and nowhere else. He failed in New York, managing to alienate pretty much everyone there, and was handed 4 HOFs on a silver platter here in LA, yet our supposed "offensive mastermind" couldn't figure out how to win games without running Kobe into the ground.

Doesn't sound like a guy I'd want around next year.

I do not think Brian would want to come here. Didn't he say after we canned Mike Brown that if the Lakers wanted to interview him, he would say no?
