Spurs were smart. The lakers would have won the series if tracy mcgrady stepped on to the floor....because he doesnt get out of the first round lol

mcGrady and Morris body wear number 1.  Both played the same when out there =p

Least the Lakers were smart for NOT getting him :P

they ONLY do that in the off-season of Dwight asked for it.

The Lakers are tired of having to go through new "transition periods" to start seasons.  They are done looking at the coaching staff(in terms of the head coach).

Look for some depth moves.

I only see them firing D'antoni under two conditions.  One, if Dwight asked for it, Two if we start the season with a bad record.

Yeah but what are the options ? Brian shaw ? because thats the only name that might be a possibility not named Phil.

Here's mine. Fire MDA. Hire Phil as head coach or executive in front office. Resign Dwight. Amnesty Artest. Shop Pau, trade him if the right piece/s come back. Blow the bench apart. Start from scratch. I like Hill but he's hardly healthy(Blake too). I would consider moving them for draft picks. I would like to keep Jamison if he'd like to stay. If Dwight leaves, no telling.

That's the thing.   People beg for D'antoni to be fired, but aren't thinking about the alternatives.

Brian Shaw more than likely isn't coming and has anyone SEEN the Pacers offense?  We also don't have the wings to play their defense.

Rick Adelman is more than likely retiring to go check on his wife.

Phil has said time and time again that he wants to do the management or front office side of things rather than coach.

So if D'antoni goes they would just get another coach that would leave them feeling just as empty because he isn't Phil.

That's why I am mentioning player moves that we can make cause I can't see them firing another coach and having another transition period about to occur.  3 straight seasons of it isn't gonna happen.

Mwp. Blake is a more than capable backup as he has recently proven. He's got grit and the attitude of a winner as well. Why do you think Kobe always has nothing but words of respect for him. Ron and Pau need to go long overdue

Resigning Dwight and finding a competent coach this summer are the primary concerns, that they need to either plan to go all in for 2014 or make a flurry of moves to shore up depth next season. It's one or the other. Unless we pull off a handful of moves this summer, I'd say the 2014 plan is the smartest to follow, especially with Kobe on the mend.

Get some athletic defensive minded players. Players that don't mind doing dirty work. I.E. Reggie Evans

I say keep G.Lock.
Try to resign Dwight..
If he doesn't resign, keep Gasol
If he resign, trade Gasol to either Portland, Toronto or Minnesota... Ijs... Get some damn shooters

Biggest ones that can realistically happen "before" next season.

Re-sign Dwight
let Ebanks go
Put Duhon on the trading block
Place Pau on the trading block
Re-sign Goudelock
Let Meeks go so you can save the MLE
Give the MLE to Martell Webster
Sign Leandro Barbosa to the vets minimum
Bring CDR into training camp.

Hire a defensive assistant for the next season.

That's a start, everything after that is just icing.   But that's the best you can expect unless a huge trade happend.   But then again huge trades equal "top heavy" which everyone seems to be complaining about so depthy off-season means no big names.  Unless you count Monta.

I dont always agree with Majesty's perspective, but he has nailed this one.  That's about the best we can do with the cards we have.  Get some speed and defense in a trade for Pau, get Kobe back by 1/1/14 and we start rolling.  Oh, and let's hire a real coach too.

Either convince Phil or accept the fact that Mike Antoni is the coach with a defensive assistant(i think its the realistic option)

Problem is we cant be in a building stage, never meant to be. This offseason will be full of critical decisions, I hope Jim doesn't invovle himself alot.

Vinny Del Negro. Mike Dunleavy.

lol yeah I stand by my statement. He hid behind the greatness of Steve Nash. He played Kobe 45 mins per game, that led to a season ending surgery, to hide behind him as well. He is a joke. He understands nothing but "score more than the opposing team" or his dumb system. He neglected the idea of bringing in a defensive minded assistant coach by bringing in his brother. So many reasons to fire him

Mike D'Antoni is GARBAGE.

To be completely honest, we could lose Dwight, and we'd probably have a better season next year. That's just how [expletive]ed up things are, and how they work. No one expected the Knicks/Clippers to be this good. Things just don't work out how you think they will.
