2013 ALL-NBA CHALLENGE
The first part of the game is being a general manager. The second part is coaching. This is part one.
You will compose a team of 10-12 of the NBA's all-time greatest players (MUST HAVE PLAYED AFTER 1970). Each player drafted will be assigned a season by his GM. Favor 2007-08 Kobe over the 2001-02 version? This specifies player personel and allows you to maximize each players best attributes while taking your other superstars into consideration.
1994-95 Scottie Pippen works best as a first option, but depending on who you have surrounding him, it would make sense to pick a season where he deferred to MJ but was just as dominant. Just in a secondary role. Player statistics are accessible throughout the net, I recommend:
"Team up Shaq with Jerry West and Stockton in the backcourt........possibly have Isiah and Magic in the same backcourt...... Larry the Legend and Pistol Pete gunslingin side by side.....the possibilities are endless!"
Teams will be formed via a draft that will take place over the course of a dedicated time period to be announced after participants are confirmed. The draft order will be completely random. Inverse order in each round. Last pick in round 1 has first pick in round 2. Last pick in round 2 has first pick in round 3.
There will be 10 rounds of drafting.
Upon drafting, there will be a trading & free agent period. There will be no salaries to take into the equation, but please don't trade Michael Jordan.
Free agents will be assigned based on a waiver system. The later pick you have, the higher priority you have in terms of a free agent. All players released or undrafted can be claimed.
You must end up with at least 10 players on your roster and no more than 12.
The rules are simple this time around.
Based on the number of participants, we will divide teams up into two conferences and seed them. Seeding will be based on judge input. Judges will be announced at a later time.
For each playoff battle, you will compose a gameplan (no limitations) as to how you want to work your team strategy and how you want to take advantage of the opponent. You can write 5 sentences or 5 paragraphs, up to you. Judges will decide the winner.
The higher seed will call defensive rules. New school (zones, no handchecks) or old-school (no zones, handchecks).
There are no limits to the number of participants, but the more, the funner the competition will be. Do not join if you're not serious and ready to devote a whopping 10 minutes per day towards this. The game begins as soon as we get a solid number of participants.
