At least he could hit free throws. How many games did we lose this year because Howard couldn't make a freakin free throw. I can tell you, it was alot. That's what got us to a below .500 record for the 1st half of the year.

I thought you weren't blaming Howard for our struggles this season?

I didn't blame Howard for the struggles. When did I say that? This thread is if he should be signed to a max contract, not about why we struggled and lost this year.

I didn't compare Howard to Shaq any more than to say that this same stupid free throw criticism has been applied to both,.

Keep reaching dude.

You're deflecting my argument by trying to divert things to a point that wasn't brought up.

You've ignored legitimate questions, ignored facts and stats, ignored history and continue to bring up side points that don't help you out whatsoever.  I'm done, enjoy your trolling.  I'll consider your lack of intelligent response to legit questions about your point(s) as a win.

Thanks for playing.

The idea that we shouldn't sign Dwight is ridiculous. Even in a system not suited for the guy, he led the league in rebounds while being injured for many games. He also was 5th in blocked shots and 2nd in FG%.

In addition, Dwight managed to make this team average defensively. Without him, we would have been the worst in the league. This IMO can be credited to our PGs and D'Antoni (the tool).

I think we should do whatever possible to re-sign Dwight, including trading everyone not named Kobe. In fact, i think if we DONT get Dwight i think the only option is a total fire-sale that does includes the amnesty provision on Kobe. Why? Because Kobe coming back from a torn achilles, an injury prone Nash at 39 and Pau at 33 isn't going to be able to win. They'd be a 7th seed, at best, which IMO isn't an option. I can accept being the 27th-30th best team in the league for one season, if it means being able to rebuild in the summer of 2014 with a top draft pick and 55 million in cap-space. I can't accept another season struggling just to get into the playoffs, just to be swept by a top-seed.

You're either contending or rebuilding.

Thought I'd post this little gem here for the guy that was saying Pau could lead the team better than Dwight etc etc

@KevinDing 4h

Pau will be 0-16 in all-time playoff games without Kobe.

Worst thing you can do is listen to talk radio after a loss.  95% of the callers are idiots who can't handle their emotions.

Did you post that in the Pau thread as well? If not, you probably should. Not only would it make more sense there, but it probably wouldn't get lost in the shuffle as much either so to speak.

The only players i consider "max" contract players currently, who have the "complete" game is LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Period.

Kevin  Durant doesn't have a complete game.

And unfortunately max contracts and the NBA doesn't work that way.

LeBron didn't get a max, the FO should do the same with Dwight, to sign more people <br />It can't be possible that miami FO are the only ones in the league able to talk superstars into less money

^ Probably not, but that no taxes thing is a huge advantage to say the least. Plus of course, beautiful Women (some of the most in the world), beautiful beaches, always sunny, etc. Not many places exactly that can say the same.

^ He can't gain weight & get stronger, unfortunately for him. Although he doesn't exactly need it per say, you have to think just how much more dominant he could be if he did ala LeBron.

Post up, defend the best players on the floor for 48 minutes, pass the ball effectively (although he's improving), establish himself as the #1 option by forcing his hand and taking the most shots on his team.

Durant is my second favorite player, and I hope the Thunder win the NBA championship (went to a Thunder/Nuggs game last month)...so I have no reason to hate on the man.

How is what I said not true? Think about how much of what LeBron does on the court has to do with his ridiculous power, strength, & body combined with athleticism. Yeah, Durant is the more overall skilled player, especially offensively, but do you mean to tell me if he bulked up somehow, it wouldn't help make him as dominant as LeBron overall, if not more?

Dwight Howard can make $118M with the Lakers or $88M elsewhere.
