I'm watching Captain Kirk play such ferocious defense on DWill right now and I was just wishing we would have acquired him when we could have.

So I was just wondering who would you rather have on the Lakers at the moment Hinrich or Nash? They both bring different things and with Kobes absence that may impact your decision also.

I always wanted Hinrich to be a Laker. Nash I don't care if he stays or goes.

I realize Nash isn't completely healthy, but wanting Hinrich over him is extremely shortsighted. A guy who scores around 7 ppg and 3 apg (only up to 5 this year) in similar minutes to Nash is not better. Defense is important, but anybody who would take him over Nash has a case of "the grass is greener".

Nash has a bad game and is injured: Scores 16 points and holds Danny Green to 6 points.

Heinrich has a good game: Scores 7 and pesters Deron Williams

Conclusion by some apparently.. .

GET HEINRICH!! NASH IS USELESS!!! :smh:

This is a lovely topic for the people that have nowhere to go since their "we're better without Dwight" campaigns ^_^

What about the start Earl Clark campaign? Or the give coach Brown time campaign? Or the Bynum will have the best year of his career campaign?

Nash I can live without. We don't need to score more. We need someone to make these young athletic guards work for buckets. We'd miss Steve's outside shooting. That's it.

Nash just needs to retire. Plain and simple. He could shoot 50 40 90 but he's just injured way to much. We need players who we dont need worry all the time if there gonna get hurt and then how long it will take them to get back.

And without that how are defenses gonna sag off Dwight?

Understand that if we don't have guys consistently able to stretch the floor, Dwight is gonna get swarmed on a nightly basis.

The only way you counter that is having someone else on the court that demands just as much if not more defensive attention, someone like Kobe Bryant.

Without Kobe, and without Nash, who exactly is going to be a guy that knocks down shots consistently at 50% that would make defenses say "meh lets not sag off this guy?"

Nash is not the MAIN guy for that job, but as long as Kobe's out he has to be.

If you don't have Nash right now who do you go to if they swarm on both Gasol and Howard to make them stop?

Exactly.

Nash. Hinrich gets hurt almost every other game. It's a myriad of injuries too, you never know when he's going to miss time. Until this year Nash was almost a lock to play like 90% of the schedule.

I love how one good defensive game from a guy like Heinrich who averages 7 and 3 gets people actually split down the middle between having him and Nash -_-

Some Lakers fans always seem to praise someone NOT on our team for one game, but never want to credit the people actually ON their team over "multiple" games.

Laker has 7 good games

Some fans: It proves nothing!!  Let's see consistency!!

Someone not a Laker has 1 good game.

Some fans: OMG!! I PREFER HIM OVER THIS OTHER PLAYER WE HAVE!! WE NEED TO GET HIM!!!

It's saddening.

I'm sure when Nash gets his legs back we'll see threads about how much better we are with Nash and Blake playing together.

A better question imo would be if you would rather have Heinrich or Meeks.

Kirk. Kobe and Gasol have both shown an ability to pass the ball effectively. Before the injury, they were looking like the old duo from '08-'10. Nash might still have a bit of gas in the tank, but Heinrich brings something we've been lacking for years at guard: Defense.

Maybe if Nash had brought the Suns medical staff with him, he'd be a superior option.

Some only say Kirk because they don't watch every Bulls game, they only end up watching games where he does well. If we had him, I bet half of the fans would complain like they do now for every player we have.
