Report: Allen Iverson Has 72 Hours to Pay $71k in Child Support or Go to Jail

Iverson admitted that he told Tawanna that he had no intention of paying her child support despite the fact that he had just received $462,460.24 and thus had the ability to pay.

With those words from his mouth, Judge Lane held him in Contempt of Court and ordered him to pay a total $71,000.00 within 72 hours otherwise she directed the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office to place him under arrest and keep him in jail until the payment is made.

Judge Lane also stated in her written order the following:

The father, rather unapologetically, testified that he had consumed alcohol “maybe twenty” times recently, including during his parenting time; that he had not taken any therapy sessions; that he had not taken any therapy sessions; that he had not attended any AA meetings; and that he did not intend to attend any.

I like how he tried his whole life to keep this "gangster" look and now he's gonna go to jail for child support.

Very sad. If I was given that much money, I would still have 80 percent of that and I would be living like a king.

I'm sure he is the type of guy that burnt 100 dollar bills just for fun.

We sittin' in here, I'm supposed to be the babies daddy, and we in here talkin' about jail.  I mean listen, we talkin bout jail.  Not a prison, not prison, not a prison.  We talkin bout jail.  Not a prison, not a, not a, not the prison that I can go to and die at, and fear every day like its my last.  Not that prison.  We talkin' bout jail, man.  I mean how silly is that?  We talkin' bout jail.

Iverson in tears. He could make the same exact video now and it would make sense four years later. Has he learned anything?

It's so saddening because I really felt like he was making strides towards growing up, when he cut his hair, like he really wanted change.

Funny how 60% of the Miami Heat's roster is in this video

Getting rid of those cornrows?  In a way yes, that's what he took it as a symbol as that he was letting go of childish things and was gonna start acting like a grown man.

That's what cutting the cornrows meant to him as he said it was a symbol of change for him.

It may not mean the same thing to you so you can 'lol' all day, but it meant something to Iverson.  You can check out the interviews about it if you wish :)

It's so funny to imagine that Iverson WOULD BE A LAKER RIGHT NOW if he had agreed to play on the D-league team, and there was a team last year that had interest in him too if he would have played for the D-league team for just a small while.

AI has let two golden opportunities pass him by because he thinks that he can get into the league not through the D-league.
