If kobe was traded back when he demanded it, what do you think we would've gotten in return?

I do not understand your question. If he was traded back to us, obviously we would of gotten Kobe Bryant in return with some very small "pieces" that would not be with us at this point.

KOBE. #VINO. BRYANT.

Being that it was either the Bulls or Clippers probably a package involving 1-2 draft picks.

Clippers - Corey Maggette, Al Thorton, Cuttino Mobley Package (Possibly Tim Thomas???)

Bulls -  Ben Gordon, Luol Deng, Kirk Hinrich

Picks+the bulls trade looked pretty nice, at least compared to what the clippers were offering lol. Did no other team offer a star? I thought teams would line up to get their hands on him

A source confirmed the Pistons and Lakers agreed on a deal, which most likely included Richard Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, Amir Johnson and a future first-round pick for Bryant, who wound up being the 2007-08 MVP.

No rings. No happiness. Loss of revenue. Loss of media coverage. Loss of international fans. Loss of a player with true commitment and dedication. Loss of motivation drive. Loss of the Laker Nation activity. Loss of hope.

^ agreed.

If you think of all the accomplishments Bryant has done, the popularity, the fans, the rings, it'd all be somewhere else.

We were lucky. He had every right to want to leave at the time. We really wasted allot of kobe's career with all the scrubs he had to play with.

If you know anything about Ben Gordon and Deng in their prime it would not have been that bad if they added a first round pick or two. However butts in seats and mystique would have been a definite problem. Would Phil and a 27 year old Pau have been there??

Damn thats it?

Lol did you see all the teams that wanted him? Its not like hes ever gonna win a chip with the pistons or clippers. Bulls maybe if they were still going to get boozer/noah/DRose. Man, a drose/kobe duo would've been awesome!

The problem was that he didn't want to be traded if it meant the other team giving up too many good players to get him. I hear that the Bulls trade might have happened but Kobe wouldn't agree to it if they had to give up something like Gordon, Deng, plus Noah/Thomas or whatever else.

My guess is that if it had to happen, it would have been for something similar to the Shaq deal -- a lot of cap space, some picks, and a couple B-level players.

Now, whether that would have lead to a couple terrible years and a Miami-style plan to empty the books for the summer of Lebron, who knows...
