Restricted FA. Not happening.

Given how the Mavs coach refuses to use the guy consistently I'm sure he could ask for a trade or be on his way out anyway.

He obviously doesn't like the way Dallas is treating him.

i really wish we could find the cap room to get Monta Ellis here...he's opting out of his contract to be a FA this summer.

We need specialists, who can either defend 3s or shoot.

Vets minimum: Delonte West and Dahntay Jones would be nice. If Clark wants more than the Lakers are willing to give, i think Jamison should be re-signed as well.

Mini-midlevel: Tony Allen, Corey Brewer, Chase Budinger, Kyle Korver, Dorell Wright, Brandon Rush, Devin Harris and Jarrett Jack.

we need shot-creators ,like stu lance was constantly harping at during the last game. with Blake's emergence as a decent playmaker , all the 2nd unit needs is one more player who can create some O off the dribble. one dimensional players like Meeks are overrated (shooters) , because ,what do they do for you when their shot is off? - nothing offensively.

theres a good amount of guards that we should be hopeful to replace Meeks with. also remember, blake is about as tall as Meeks, so he can play the two.(before this season, many of us viewed blake as simply a catch and shoot player, a meeks.)

nate rob, will bynum, jarret jack, devon harris, cj watson, dj augistine, calderon, mo williams, mike james, oj mayo , randy foye, nick young, steven jackson. we should pray to replace Jodie Meeks with one of these players.

a player who can shoot AND create off the dribble ; is about 500 billion times more effective for a team , as opposed to a one dimensional "shooter". steve blake has proved this to us ; blake>>>>meeks ; who would have predicted that at the beggining of the season..

Kobe and Randle led Lakers lead the team to a 32-50 record. the Lakers select Myles Turner with the 5th pick.

Barbosa will be locked away in Washington somewhere.

Think he'll want out?

I dont disagree. But as good as Blake have been these past couple of games, his production these past couple of years havent been good. Also, Meeks IS one-dimensional, but he fits pretty well at a decent price and he competes.

I'd like to see them get the best available back-court player using the mini-midlevel, regardless of position and then fill out the roster by trades and the vets minimum.

For instance, if we land Devin Harris, I think we’d have solved much of our ball-handling issues, and should fill out our roster with cheap wings who can defend and shoot, like Dahntay Jones and Alan Anderson. With Devin Harris on board, I’d also try to package Blake and Meeks in a trade for a good wing.

well to do so we would have to loose about 40 mill after Dwight resigns.

Perfect. But if I had to choose I would love Dorell Wright as a Laker.

I'm basically working under the assumption, that Metta is amnestied in that case i think a 3pt shooter, like Wright would be perfect. Defensively, against the elite wings, like LBJ, Melo, and Durant, i think Kobe and Clark will suffice.

well to do that ofcourse there's only one way, which is to amnesty Kobe or Gasol.....but it makes more sense to amnesty Kobe since they play the same position. Monta can score just as effective and he's a lot younger (which means ofcourse better defense) but people wanna hold on to Kobe so badly for this one last year while he's getting paid 30 mil....just doesn't make sense. When you can do so much more with that cap room being free.

Dahntay Jones...that would be interesting.

I like Martell Webster. Cheap, an athletic 6ft 7 wingman who can shoot lights out.

Also a good shooter is Daniel Gibson and Dorrel Wright. Both under 5 mil contracts. We need shooters this coming season and hopefully not undersized ones. Why I prefer the Websters, Wrights, B. Rush's around the league.

Remember guys, we are only able to offer Mini MLE this summer. No big deals unless we sign and trade I believe.

Like I said, Mertell Webster. We can get him for the MLE and he is a good bench scorer and he could add to the lineup. I think he's the guy we go after.

You could also pick up a Jeremy Lamb if you wanted. Get Webster(now) Lamb(to develop) and you're set.

The Lakers need any athletic player that can create his own shot.  Another shooter would be fine, but after a shot creating player is acquired.

Any good, athletic wing would suffice, really, lol.
