Lol at everyone supporting MDA and giving MDA credit. He hasn't done [expletive].

Kobe was the one willing us into the playoffs. Putting up insane state lines and playing full games.

Kobe was the one that made the decision to ditch Nash as being the main facilitator and play him off the ball, ditching MDA's [expletive]ty gameplan.

Kobe is the one that told Pau to get into the post and play aggressive.

Our defense getting better is mostly due to DH getting back to his former self.

MDA hasn't done [expletive] besides rob the franchise of its money and breaking Kobe.

Anyways, as much as I want D'Antoni gone, right now it's still 50/50 despite what Mitch said.

There's a very good chance Mitch put this out in the media so the team and D'Antoni is not bombarded with questions of MDA's future with the team during the playoffs.

But on the flip side for those that want him gone, including me, the team did in fact make the playoffs and had one of the better records in the league over the last 40 games.  We can say it was Kobe and the players, but results are results regardless of the reason we hold to be true.

There are two things that will determine MDA's future, starting with the team's performance in vs the Spurs. The second will be Dwight's off-season situation. What happens if Dwight tells the Lakers he won't re-sign if MDA is the coach?  Unless the front office has a back-up plan that will work without issue, then they will be forced to fire MDA.

Last year the Lakers brought Brown back bc he had no training camp the year before and being the #3 seed in a lockout season.  D'Antoni has the no training camp and many injuries excuse along with being the 7th seed.

I just don't get WHY Kupchak had to say this NOW...How exactly does it hurt if you say, "He's doing a great job. We'll give him a full review in the off-season, and make a decision at that time." We're essentially closing ourselves off if Phil says he definitely is ready to coach again.

I honestly don't give a [expletive] if you're still paying Mike Brown and D'Antoni, as well as a new coach. Everyone here made the right decision. YOU are the one who made the wrong decision...It's YOUR responsibility to pay up for the mistakes that YOU made, not the fans.

@ESPNStatsInfo: Mike D'Antoni is the first Lakers coach in franchise history to lose his first 2 career playoff games with the team.

Solid. This was the guy that just won Coach of the Month.

If a championship is "laughable" your remaining time as a coach for the Los Angelas Lakers should be "laughable" too.

If Dwight is smart he should give the Lakers an ultimatum. Eaither fire MDA or I'm walking!!   Imagine Dwight walks. We end up having no D12, we trade Pau cus we broke and no Kobe for most or half of the season next year. And still have Mike D Antoni coaching a bunch of nobodies and a 60 year old steve nash.  If that were to happen, this team is the worst lakers team in history.  Worst  than the 1993 lakers.

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.

Fire him in the middle of the playoffs, make a real statement (only partially kidding, the outcome will be the absolute worse no matter what, swept on our homecourt)

I'm still with the "Fire D'Antoni Chants" and "Fire D'Antoni" signs at the home games. He is not Laker material.

So if D'Antoni returns next year we will be worse than a 7th seed?

If Phil  doesn't come back, you guys trust Scott and Shaw?

If MDA comes back, we're not winning a championship.

If PJ doesn't come back, I'd rather have a relatively unknown in Shaw than having a known failure in MDA.

Pau Gasol is GONE
