If we had Kobe I honestly think wed beat the Spurs... But without that go to clutch player dont see it happening. Not to mention that Nash is still an unknown. Id say Spurs in 5 or 6.

Howard is clutch on defense

The Spurs are beatable, they are the Patriots of the NBA, awesome regular season every season, analysts drink the kool-aid, they get a bad matchup in the playoffs and get the boot.  The Lakers are playing pretty good defense since Kobe went down, but that is only 2 games.  I think they can at worst give the Spurs a series, and if they can actually make adjustments and play smart, I actually think they could just win, which is not a possibility against OKC.  Of all the teams the Lakers want to face in the playoffs, it is these guys, just like they planned it all season, obv.

I'm feeling confident coming into this matchup.. The spurs are all injured and banged up so we should be able to take advantage of this

I'm not sure what is the health of Parker, if he's healthy its gonna be tough. Just keep letting Pau set up on the high post like he's has been

C Duncan vs Howard
PF Gasol vs Splitter
SF Leonard vs MWP
SG Green vs Meeks
PG Parker vs Nash <- by far the biggest mismatch but fortunately Parker is a streaky shooter so we can go underneath the screens

Bench

C Blair vs Hill
PF Bonner vs Jamison (Jamison has to outscore this dude)
SF Ginobili vs Clark
G Gary Neal vs Blake (just dont let Neal shoot 3s)

I think we can get away with a Jamison/Gasol/Howard frontcourt like we did last night...Howard was crazy mobile shutting down driving lanes and blocking shots at the rim, they dont have a dynamic SF so this might work

Pretty tough to call this one with LA missing their 1 & 2 as of right now.

Factor in T-Mac....

I know Howard hasnt been 100 percent, but last night I think everyone could see just how much Howard changed a team defensively. Easily the best defense guy in the league when he is healthy. Who rememebers the play where Dwight got blocked and than sprinted down the whole court, caught up to J lin and stripped him and made the ball go off his leg to get it back for the lakers? Never seen a big man hustle like that, or at least not one in a Lakers uniform for years.

The Lakers match-up well BUT you guys also have to look at this team right now:

Metta is not 100%

Nash may or may not play in the playoffs, if he does, how much of an impact will he have?

Hill probably will return, but how much will he be able to contribute?

Kobe is out so there's that.

As much as I would love to pick the upset, I say Spurs in 6.  I hope the P&G prove me wrong though.

I love my Lakers but I'm going to be realistic. As much as I want us to upset the Spurs, I don't see it happening without Kobe. A time will come when we need a Kobe Bryant basket to help us during the game... It all depends on who steps up and what kind of defense we decide to play.

I understand what your saying but if Gasol and Dwight can continue to DOMINATE like this I see it being a problem if we continue to pound the ball on the Inside we could upset A LOT OF TEAMS the only team I see giving us a problem is the Thunder and the Grizzlies...
