Kupchak Continues To Expect Dwight Will Re-Sign With Lakers

Apr 16, 2013 5:42 PM EDT

Mitch Kupchak continues to be confident that Dwight Howard will re-sign with the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason, when the center becomes a free agent.

“I expect it,” Kupchak said Tuesday.

Howard had 26 points and 17 rebounds in Sunday's win over the San Antonio Spurs, the Lakers' first game without Kobe Bryant.

“For the last six or seven weeks, we’ve been seen him playing like he played in Orlando,” Kupchak said of Howard.

i dont have a link but just saw this on fb from a laker fan page

Stephen A. Smith: "From what I know is that Dwight is happy in LA, he doesn't want to live in Houston. Dwight loves the city (LA), he loves the franchise, he believes in Mitch Kupchak, and everything points to the Lakers being Dwight's first choice."

Thing is dwight knows we will pay him max as long as he is him. So he knows he will get paided better here than anywhere + with the endorsements. Then he knows we will be willing to pay for others.
