I've been running out very fast lately.

I totally understand why there's a limit for new accounts but is it possible for veteran users to get a increase?

I always throw my reps (+1/Likes) at good deserving comments for whatever the reason. To show that user their input, knowledge, humor, etc was appreciated. But recently I run out very fast. Just wondering. Thanks.

I just increased the max rep given in a 24-hour period to 20.

The reason why there's a max limit is to avoid cases where we end up handing out reputation (likes) more than we reply to topics. I understand that it's much easier to "like" something that you agree with, completely, but encouraging members to type out replies, even if they share the same opinions expressed in the post(s) that they "like"...it could lead to that member typing something that extends the debate.

^ That's a fantastic point. Don't know why I never really thought of it that way, but thanks nonetheless. I think the extra 10 is more than reasonable.

Is it really 20 or not cause this is just ridiculous. Seems like I never have any to give. Honestly. Can we up it to 30?

I have been seeing a lot of people running out of +1's lately. And yes, it was set on 20 for max rep points that members can hand out.

30 seems like a bit much (for reasons that RD explained earlier in the thread), I'll bump it up to 25 though. That should be enough :)

I never knew there was a limit. Love the prospect of the limit though. I'd rather people post and engage in discussions than simply leave a "like."
