Things seem to have gone pretty quiet - probably intentionally.
One month 'til training camp. At that point, it's much more difficult to control the narrative without providing some actual evidence (in the form of on court drills, etc.).

I'm not sure the restrictions doctors have set, but typically we see players go from jogging on treadmill, to being on the court shooting in like 2 weeks. I would say 6 weeks from jogging, he should be almost ready. So I would say he misses TC, only doing drills by himself, and he uses pre-season as TC and probably misses all of those games, but it would shock me if he missed any games

Kobe's out for sure the whole preseason. It's news.
The Lakers have still not put a time table on his return.
They said they expect him to miss the entire pre-season but there's nothing definite about it. It would be nice if they just ruled him out so he doesn't push his recovery any harder than he should.

Getting all these guards
I mean with Young, Vujachic and Meeks out there at the 2 position or such, Kobe wouldn't need to be hurried and could take his time
I've always liked Steve Blake.

Kidding aside I agree. Better to be direct than mislead, give potential false hope & risk something.
