Even though its a progress, the media is overreacting the running thing, Kobe is using an anti-gravity treadmill which unweights by 80% no ?

Up to 80% we have no idea how much it is being used. Could be used for as low as 20% I believe. It is probably in the middle some where.

All I want for Christmas is a Laker girl :D

We have a lot of dreamers in here.

They said that when he went down and people said he'd come back.

They said he could be out an entire year...

They said that when he was walking before schedule

They said it would be a while before he could walk correctly

They said that when he was jumping ahead of schedule

They said a return soon was improbable at his age as most people can't run till 6 months in..

They say that now when he's running in 4...

They'll never stop saying it till he proves them wrong again.

And even then they still won't believe.

It's not a dream when you witness it every day.  Maybe the doubters are the ones dreaming.  They've been dreaming since 09 when they said he'd never score 30 a night at will ever again...

From Kevin Ding on Sulia

Preview my column on the perfect timing of Kobe's Achilles challenge and what shattering the timetable would mean:

Bryant has been blessed not to view all his work as “work.” But with 17 NBA seasons on the ledger – without a break or two in there, unlike Michael Jordan, as Bryant will note – the passion has gradually become more like a grind.

And that’s why the timing of this latest epic challenge was so right.

The Lakers’ timetable for Bryant after his April 13 surgery was six to nine months of recovery. Bryant said recently while in China: “The normal timetable for recovering for an Achilles? We’ve shattered that.”

If “shattered” holds up by definition, Bryant will return in far less than six months … which means far sooner than Oct. 13.

The Lakers’ first exhibition game for the coming season is Oct. 5.

Bryant turns 35 Friday, and he does so with a renewed appreciation for how much doing what he does means to him – and to all those who look to him for inspiration.

That is simple stuff, but it can get lost amid all the games, years, accolades, injuries, kids, promotional appearances and business ideas.

Bryant isn’t done with challenges.

So he isn’t done.

Anything else isn't a preview(which Ding willingly gave) and would be in the link :)

Ding seems to get the internet which is awesome :D

It's just such a shame that when Kobe returns...MDA will be waiting for him.

Pau Gasol is GONE

Kobe Bryant To Participate In Celebrity All-Star Game In Dubai

Coach-Kobe-300x218.jpg

While recovering from his ruptured Achilles, Kobe Bryant has still was able to make his annual overseas trip to Asia, making appearances in both China and the Philippines. According to reports, Bryant still isn’t done traveling this summer with a trip to Dubai in the works.

According to the Khaleej Times, a newspaper covering news in the  UAE, Bryant will be in Dubai on September 27 and 28 for what is being called the “Bryant Health & Fitness Weekend” to raise awareness for diabetes. The weekend is presented by Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) and will see Bryant show up and participate in various activities, including a celebrity all-star game.

During the course of the weekend, Bryant will make a number of appearances with the highlight being the highly anticipated celebrity basketball game on September 27 at the state-of-the-art Knights Arena at American University in Dubai. [...]

Bryant will lead the warm-up and coach a team of celebrity players, fittingly called Team Black Mamba. Kobe’s team includes a number of high-profile, household names in the region.

I love the optimism. I find it funny though how we all disregard everything Skip says as garbage unless its something positive for the Lakers.

I do it all the time though.

Skip always talks good about Kobe and is optimistic about him till ESPN writes a segment where Skip has to disagree with Stephen A.

Skip was the guy who said two years ago Kobe was gonna lead the league in scoring, and he almost did, he's the one that said Kobe wasn't done.  Skip only says something negative about Kobe when it's Stephen A's turn to be positive and Skip has to be over the top to play devils advocate.  But more often than not Skip never bets against Kobe.

yeah sometimes you can TELL when lines have been fed to one of them.  I wish they could just give their true opinions instead of having to fake disagree for ratings.  It just makes it all look fake.  Which is what ESPN is nowadays.

^ Whether fake or not, conflict creates ratings. It's a sick sad world and that's the way it usually works, especially in the field that is mainstream media.
