Kobe will come back from this. He's too competitive to let it end like this. But depending on how bad it was, he could be out a long, long time. Enough to impact next season.

If anyone can come back from this kind of thing it's Kobe... But it's just starting to register how serious this could be for his career :(

I just hate that he had to be writhing on the floor three different times for it to finally sink in, unbelievable

MDA will burn in Hell for playing Kobe without rest these couple of games ..

We can't do anything but pray right now ..

People don't understand how big this is.  He could be out most of next season, if not all.

What are you talking about?

To be fair, Kobe's been in the league 17 years, he should now his limits. I don't see that as D'Antoni's fault.

Fair or not, I'm disappointed Steve Nash didn't man up and play through the pain. If he did, Kobe wouldn't have had to log insane minutes.

This is bad. It's easy to say this in hindsight, but he shouldn't have been out there. He already got banged up twice earlier in the game, now he could be done for the year, even going into next season probably.

I'm crying inside. Seeing one of my heroes go down, and still hit 2 FTs...

Achilles was pretty competitive too. He didn't come back.

Kobe probably knows that he can do things that others can't, he promised that we'd make the playoffs and he did basically everything he could to get us headed there, you can't blame him for that. Coaches are there for a reason, sometimes they have to tell players when they need to sit. Boxers have trainers that tell them when they've had enough during fights, it's basically the same thing.

Dave McMenamin ‏@mcten

Kobe has tears in his eyes and is on crutches. "Terrible. This is a terrible feeling." He says he knows it's a torn Achilles

Sad, sad day...I think Chauncey took a whole 10 months to recover from this injury.
