You think its possible?  For one, it will be the Lakers longest winning streak of the year. And winning 5 in a row is the best chance the Lakers have to making the playoffs since Lakers shoot themselves in the foot by losing to crappy teams. Even the most optomistic lakers fans can't even finish the kool aid and say the lakers can win 5 in a row.  You know that saying that we can only control what we can control and don't look at what the other team is doing?  Well the lakers better prey that the Utah Jazz end up losing atleast 2 games for the lakers to have a chance to making it.   From what I heard, a lot of teams will rest their players when they play against the Jazz so the Lakers wont make the playoffs.

I wondered what will they be showing on backstage lakers in a few weeks or so. I know for sure I'll be watching.

We haven't had any decent winning streak all year long and I don't expect the Lakers to make a run now taking into account the extreme amount of pressure the players are dealing with.

If it hasn't happen all season i don't see why they would go on a 5 winning streak now.

Source? I wouldn't be surprised.

No reason to believe they will.  Their backs have been against a wall for quite awhile, they haven't responded.  Lets be real though, the offseason was gonna be a heck of a lot more exciting than the playoffs this year anyhow.  :)

No sources on the "teams resting players so the Jazz can win" thing but when I heard John Ireland brought it up on his radio show today, it does make me think a little.

vs. OKC

vs. MIN

@ MIN

@ MEM

Two of those teams will likely be fighting for a playoff spot when their game rolls around.  The Wolves may be a team that really doesn't care, and would rather see LA out of the picture.

But I believe OKC will go after Utah hard, thinking LA won't make the cut...because the Thunder want that top seed, ultimately, especially if they think the Lakers have no chance at this point.

Memphis could be fighting for #3 or #4 when the smoke clears, so I don't see why they would rest.

This Laker team couldn't win 5 in a row if it was me and my dogs playing them right now.

We have to hope that Minny wants some revenge on utah

T-Wolves gave up al jefferson for basicly nothing (two future first rounders)

It is possible that the T-wolves have something to play for, if they beat utah, and it knocks Utah into the lottery, and the t-wolves will get the pick...

a team cannot trade 1st round picks in back to back years...

so, trade in 2010 summer...

2 picks... 2011... cannot be 2012, so... 2013 pick to Minny from utah?

minny could be playing for a 2nd lottery pick vs the jazz in these 2 games...

They might have a LOT to play for

Too bad they are god awful and Utah has more to play for. I don't think any NBA team is going to roll over, but Utah does have the lead and an easier road.

They have had eighteen new seasons this year.  Lead the league in moral victories and real disappointments.  If they implode and don't make the playoffs, will the fire MDA thread exceed 1000 pages?  Or will the Lakers simply hand him a sticky note following the last game with a GTFO signature?

I think we won 7 straight at one point, or maybe it was 7 of 8. Idk when though, I think after the all star break or something.

After all-star break we won 7 straight at home and went 12-1 there before the Wizards game I think.

We haven't lost at home since then either I believe. Unless you count the Clippers game.

Looking at the remaining schedules of the two teams, I just dont see this ending well, if both teams' opponents play their regular rotations. At best we go 4-1 but that looks unlikely.  2-3 or 3-2 is more likely and does not appear to be good enough.

We will go either 4-1 or 5-0. We WILL get into the playoffs. Tomorrow we will be back in eighth place and we will put more pressure on Utah, I think Utah will crumble under the pressure.
