If there was an open market for Kobe, imagine what teams would give up for him

I would like to say no matter what Kobe is off the table

But... These are the new lakers

Even your edit still has you looking retarded :smh:

Players I'd keep no matter what...

Dwight

Clark

Hill

Meeks

You keep Nash because of loyalty and you won't get a lot for him.

You HAVE to get rid of Duhon/MWP/Ebanks/PAU...Blake is moved in a Pau trade if necessary...

If you can't negotiate a reasonable salary for Kobe, consider moving him too.  You do NOT pay more than 15mil/year (at most) for a player over 34 years old...in truth, as a player, he's not worth more than $12-14M per year...

Only way MDA is fired is if Dwight doesn't want him here....

You agree to keep Dwight, which means max deal (around 30M/year), but you believe Kobe, who has arguably been more productive than everyone in the league not named Lebron James or Kevin Durant (including Dwight), to be worth 12-14M per year....

If you base salary merely on age, than you deserve no further comment. If you base it on productivity, then you are just plain wrong. If you base it on hard work, then he deserves 90M.

Now, do I hope he voluntarily takes a pay cut so this amazing franchise could get another ring, definitely!

But to say he only deserves 12-14M is crazy.

Ok...let's start with CBA...his next contract will take him into the 36 and over rule...

12-14M is NOT crazy.  You can NOT expect to get this Kobe for the next 3-4 years...it's not going to happen...but you COULD expect to get Dwight in his prime for at LEAST then duration of his next contract...

That's smart BUSINESS.  That's what the CBA is about and why the OWNERS wanted to re-negotiate it...to take emotional and FOOLISH sentiment out of the bottom line.

Ignoring the new CBA and it's implications to our future and personnel decisions is FOOLISH.

Kobe shouuld NOT be a max salary player on ANY TEAM that has a younger superstar on it.  Not because of his production or his current impact.  It does not make good business sense to commit that type of money to a player who can bottom out at any point in the next 2-3 years.  His body and age are simply not safe bets financially.

All of you guys need to chill with the Kobe defense...it's unnecessary and illogical.  But I guess that's why FAN is short for "FANatic"...

Most of you live up to it daily...

" he's not worth more than $12-14M per year..."  about Kobe

"Nash is making about $3-4M per year than he could have gotten on the open market and he's actually worth more than the $8-9M he gets."

Looks like you think they should be paid the same.
