Good, this team is garbage.

My enthusiasm is at zero.

lmao, my friend whos a Heat fan said:

"No way Earl Clark stays with the Lakers because he wants to go to a team that has a shot to win a chip."

I have never been on that end of the conversation. So thats how it feels.....lol

If the Lakers miss the finals, all bets are off. And that's how it should be every year.

Kobe is part of the problem.

Not because hes trash. He still is awesome and balls better than anyone.

But $25 mill/season is a huge portion of the cap. Just being real.

*cough* 30 mil*

I don't care who you are or how many butts you put in the seats...you can only put so many butts in them seats. Unless you putting up twice as better numbers than LeBron James, there is no reason to pay someone 30 mil. a season. Because that's basically what Kobe's contract is saying...its like having two Lebron's on one team...

kobe is worth 30 million as is lebron. michael jordan made 30 million when the salary cap was at 33 million. that's 98% of the salary cap. lets not be blind

dude no one is making that kind of money no more. You can't pay someone $30 mil for a season and act like its all ok.

I still have faith. Were 1/2 game out. So with Utahs tie breaker were 1 game out with 5 to play.

Don't throw the towel in just yet.
Here is a very possible scenario:

Lakers games

W- Hornets

W- @Trailblazers

W- Warriors

L- Spurs

W- Rockets

44-38

Utah games

L- Thunder

W- Twolves

W- @Twolves

L- @Grizzlies

43-39

Lakers need to have the foot on the gas now though. If we lose any other game besides the Spurs were done and I'll be giving my off season suggestions.

My prediction is this

Lakers games

W- Hornets

L- @Trailblazers

W- Warriors

L- Spurs

L- Rockets

42-40

Utah games

L- Thunder

W- Twolves

L- @Twolves

L- @Grizzlies

42-40

Its a tie.  Utah goes to the playoffs.  The Lakers need to win a couple really big ones like Portland at Portland and perhaps Houston at home, both possible, although Houston at home is more possibly a win.  This could come down to the last game of the season.

Absolutely correct last stand.

Kobe and Dwight are safe, everyone else isn't.

As long as D'Antoni is the hell outta L.A. things will right themselves.

You really think the Lakers will win in Portland?

Lakers games

W- Hornets

L- @Trailblazers

W- Warriors

L- Spurs

L- Rockets

42-40

Utah games

L- Thunder

W- Twolves

W- @Twolves

L- @Grizzlies

42-40

Scooter: I totally agree with you on that prediction.

considering salaries rise over time, what jordan was making was far worse of an issue, but again people ignore that

Utah has 43-39 if they lose only two games. And we'll win against Houston. And I think that Minny will maybe steal one at home.

So LAL 43-39, UTAH 42-40
My optimistic prediction.

It all depends on the next two games. If the Lakers win at least one of the next two or hopefully both and Utah loses to OKC tomorrow I would bet my life that the Lakers don't lose the final two games of the season. And you can call me bold on that one lol but I just don't think with everything on the line in the last two games of the season the Lakers would play as complacent as they normally do. A little? Probably. But would they have enough focus to win those games? I believe so. And we've seen them win games where they are complacent for more than half a game and they were ROAD games. (NOH, CHA) So if we are complacent for less than 1/4 of a game AT HOME against those final two teams I like our chances significantly.

Hard to envision us winning at Porkland, and beating the Rockets and Warriors at home.  There is at least one loss in there.  But 2 wins against Minny is not guaranteed for the Jazz.

I'm starting to think Meeks will be part of a trade package in the future thrown in with Pau perhaps.

Nope, and those are back to backs.  They'll win in Utah, and lose in Manyanoplace.

As it should be. A $100 million dollar roster not even making the 8th seed of the playoffs would be a disaster. Sadly, I don't see the Lakers winning in Portland. They're garbage on the road, even worse that it's in Portland, and it's the second of a back to back, which they've struggled with. To man up and win that game would go against the gutless and uninspired play they've championed all year.

I miss Mike Brown--he took a less talented team to the third seed in the playoffs.  It was a mistake letting him go.

And nobody cared about that last season. This is the [expletive]ing Lakers, if the team doesn't bring the big trophy home then the season means [expletive].

Lets not lose sight of the fact that both Brown and MDA and inferior coaching hires. Uninspired and c level "talent". As for blaming Kobe for making as much as he does, I have one question. Would you take a pay cut at your job if your company said we know you're worth x, but your coworkers want you to make y. ?
