She's been told that if the Lakers miss the postseason, all bets are off when it comes to anyone on the team, players or coaches.

This thread is going to be fun lol

Does that include Jim Buss firing himself for not hiring PJ?

So if the Lakers do make the playoffs, they will still keep the same roster and coaches? For some reason I have a feeling almost half of the laker fans hoping the lakers wont make the playoffs if that is the case.

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.

A major roster turnover is needed, the time for rebuilding is now.

No one would take Kobe, Nash, Pao, or MWP--their contracts are too ridiculous.  The Lakers would have to take up a portion of the salary to make any of those trades happen.

The next five games will tell--The Lakers have more home games, but the ones they have are better teams.  Utah has more road games, but against easier opponents.

I miss Mike Brown--he took a less talented team to the third seed in the playoffs.  It was a mistake letting him go.

I still have faith. Were 1/2 game out. So with Utahs tie breaker were 1 game out with 5 to play.

Don't throw the towel in just yet.
Here is a very possible scenario:

Lakers games

W- Hornets

W- @Trailblazers

W- Warriors

L- Spurs

W- Rockets

44-38

Utah games

L- Thunder

W- Twolves

W- @Twolves

L- @Grizzlies

43-39

Lakers need to have the foot on the gas now though. If we lose any other game besides the Spurs were done and I'll be giving my off season suggestions.

Teams would take Kobe, not even to win, but to make money off of him.

You can pay him 50M$/year, he will still be profitable to the Lakers

All bets should be off regardless if we make the playoffs and are eliminated early on.

If we make the playoffs and lose in the first or second round (hell we were favorites in pre-season) the season is a failure.

Failure is, has and always will be unacceptable for the Lakers.

The Lakers have failed to choose the correct coach two times in a row now.

Obviously replacing someone like Phil is not very easy.

Mike Brown couldn't coach offense and Pringles can't coach defense.

Hopefully we'll choose the right coach if Pringles is fired.

We all know Kobe can go several more years, but why would he want to if he has no realistic chance of winning another ring?

Can we please keep Earl? He is only going to get better and is one of the only shreds of youth on this circus of a team.

All bets are off for anyone that's not Kobe or Dwight.

Team does need a makeover, starting with the coach.

Start with the coach.

Then, see what he wants to do with Nash.  Nash can be traded, or he can stay and be productive.

Re-sign Dwight.

Trade Pau.

Fill in appropriately.

I cannot remember when the Lakers won up in Portland.  Lakers 43-39,

Yeah, but there is a salary cap.  So you'd have to trade your whole team just for Kobe and you would have Kobe & The Kobettes.  No one would take him, and we wouldn't go as he has a no trade clause.

I'd love to see Jordan Hill and Earl Clark back. Above all else though...please amnesty MWP. He isn't worth half the money he's getting.
