Absolutely not.

Youth brings no experience.  With a team of championship (well some) level talent, they need a coach that carries some provenance in with him, someone they will listen to out of respect.  Bringing in some young coach wouldn't help.  The youngest coach they'd need is Brian Shaw, but some no name young guy, no way, no how would it help.

^ well Kobe has more success and experience than mike, no offense to him. Kobe could reitre then one year after be the coach, not sure if it will work but if mike brown and antoni had a shot at coaching than kobe could be more eligible

Kobe will never be a coach, that is not even in the realm of possibility.

Why not? He's been reinventing himself a lot recently. He seems like he is quite intelligent, he sure knows the Xs and Os and his work-ethic and determination would be something players would respect.

Scott or Rambo shoulda been the coach from the second of PJ's retirement.

And as far as young coaches not succeeding, please explain Del Negro, Brooks, Thibedeau, Spoelstra and a few others.

Turn over is part of the game. Last I checked, we just tried the 2 old has-bens (Brown + MDT) that have coached for 18 combined years and never won a chip. And now people keep saying Sloan...lol.

We need a younger coach who can relate to these players and drive work ethic and commitment. Scott = this

screw it why not this team is a mess already anyways. Honestly IDC wtf this organization does, as long as we compete every night I'm fine. This team has honestly forgotten who they play for and what  they represent.

Jeff Van Gundy please. The only way to win championships with a very old and unathletic roster is to bring in a defensive-minded coach, a good one.

Arguably the greatest franchise ever

Brian Shaw should be the coach next season - unless we win a championship....

Shaw have the respect of the team, plays a style that works with all players on our current roster and he has been very successfull with the Pacers - the league's top defensive team.

PJ for a year or two then he can hand it over to Shaw.

Probably never happen though because the front office has zero interest in winning championships right now.

He did also turn Orlando down.

Adelman has no championship pedigree, can't win the big game and has proven it time and time again.

Wait. so you want Jerry Solan here (who hasn't won the big one either) but you make this this comment here.. uhhh okay

Anyway I don't care who is the next coach, they can't be any worse than D'Antoni

Thats all truth. Serious we went from Brown to MDT. Thats gotta be the worst back to back moves in franchise history.

I rather have him than Mike D thats for sure.

but here is the deal. The Laker fans are spoiled.  It is Phil Jackson or nothing. Lakers fans will still complain even if we get John Wooden out of his grave to coach the lakers if its not Phil.

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.

He should do what Micheal Jordan is doing...

Trade for Austin Rivers, say, Hill & Johnson.

You're right, that was contradictory.

Honestly, I just can't stand Adelman whatsoever.

The only thing that would be better would be if the Lakers could fire MDA and use Eddie Jordan as an interim...afterall he wasn't able to implement the Princeton.  Just think of how nice next year could be with Smiegel at the helm.
