Mike D'Antoni notoriously known for his lax practices challenged the Lakers to elevate their intensity after a critical win last night over Sacramento Kings. With Metta World Peace sidelined and Kobe Bryant hobbled, Pau Gasol surprisingly led the physical practice. Sources indicated D'Antoni ordered a practice scrimmage which started with a hard foul by Pau Gasol on Jodie Meeks. After a missed rotation on defense by Earl Clark, Gasol stepped up to the 6'8 forward from Louisville and remarked his porous effort on defense.
The 7 foot Forward further indicated how Clark has not been converting his open shots during the game and it has hurt the Lakers. Clark barked back that the team has more wins with him as a starter instead of Gasol this year. Dwight Howard stepped in to separate the two but Gasol lost his cool and blamed Howard's poor free throw shooting for the losses in last week's road trip
